Love the Ventures. They play a perfect r'n'r instrumental material. TECHNICALLY, they've been real foreseekers with sounds effects and others. The drummimg is amazing for this early time . Upon that I think that instrumental rock of the early 60's is mostly underrated. Actually it is a kind of music based on a smooth solo legato followed by a very peculiar rythm guitar which gather riffs and scratching pizzicati. No mistakes allowed, very difficult to play, Ventures roll their magic carpet with brio . Thanks for this video whith a gorgeous sound!

Real class, real gentleman, always respected one another, they never tried to out shine the other, thats real professionalism. Don’t see that much today. I’m so grateful I was alive during this time. My father loved them as well, and because of them he gave us the opportunity to take guitar lessons and one of my brothers ,drum lessons, he’s gone now, but thanks Dad, for a gift that keeps giving. Ventures rule, and always will.

No, there hasn’t been anything quite like The Ventures since. What those groups that did follow them tried to do was to recreate “The Ventures” sound in their own groups. Some got it better than others, but none to such perfection.

When you bought a Ventures LP, you also got with it an instructional booklet on how to play the songs on guitar. The Ventures therefore directly contributed to the aspirations of tens of thousands of wanna be guitarists. In about 1962, when I was about 9 years old, my dad was stationed at Tachikawa AFB in Japan. One day at the USO club, a band of young GIs was practicing in the music room. One of the songs was Pipeline. I asked how they were able to play that run of so many notes so quickly, and they showed me the soft pick. I was hooked! On my next birthday, I got my first guitar. In the 60s, every high school band that I ever heard played at least one of their songs. God bless them all!

I was just walking down my driveway and seemingly out of no where I began humming the song “Walk Dont Run”. I couldn’t remember the name, probably haven’t heard it in 40 years or more. Frustrated that I couldn’t remember the name or artist but then like magic it just came to me. Wasn’t sure if I was correct but I typed it in on KZbin and sure enough this concert and an original version came up. Wow! Was I pumped up. Where do these thoughts pop in from? I’m thrilled and call my buddies that grew up in the 60’s with me. Rock On 🤘 Sh the 60’s,., if you can remember them, you weren’t there. 😊
