When this was recorded, Nokie was 76 years old. The true answer to your question is: "That old Devil Time". Nokie has considerable problems with arthritis these days. He still plays six-string, and very well, but simply cannot do properly some stuff he could only six, seven years ago. He and Chet were the two greatest guitarists I ever saw.

Not true. Nokie was scolded by Don when they had disagreements so Don would put Nokie on bass. Nokie had no problems playing right up until he died.

Don Wilson and Nokie fought quite often and as a result Don would relegate Nokie to bass and put Bob, the weakest lead player they ever had, on lead. Ridiculous.
