Wow! So great to see Mrs. Josie Wilson, though brief, in her home, What a collection of interesting "Ventures" awards and memorabilia as she is walking from one room to another. Would love to see more of that. She was truly an amazing lady and was a very important part in The Ventures careers. I met Don three times and such a wonderful gentleman to chat with. Would love to see more video with this. Same for Nokie as I met him three times. A soft spoken and true friendly gentleman. At one of the "meet & greet" venues The Ventures hosted when preforming in Busch Gardens, Tampa, (where my Winter home is) Nokie played a personal concert for me on my Ovation guitar. Such an unexpected thrill to see his guitar genius talent directly in front of me. I met Mel once when The Ventures were playing during 1984 at the then Lulu's Roadhouse in my home town of Kitchener, Ontario. So sad I never got to meet Bob and unfortunately as well talented Gerry McGee.. RIP Mel, Bob & Mrs. Josie Wilson.

I've got a cassette of a live broadcast from their days as a duo... I think it's from 1962. It's a broadcast from a Dodge dealer, and between each song, the announcer is pitching cars and telling people to "come on down!" They play WDR, of course, but a lot of other covers, too. There are even some vocals. Let's just say the decision to go instrumental was the right one. :) Even as a duo, they sounded great. You can really hear the way each guy filled the sound with a combination of lead and rhythm.

Actually Don had a pretty good voice. But I agree, I'm glad they went mostly instrumental..!

Hi Matt B, I still have that documentary on video tape. But I'm still searching for the song: Walk don `t run 2000 because I am a big fan of The Ventures. Could you perhaps tell me on what CD is that song.

Los Venturoso sonaban realmente diferente ya que en los 60's creo que estaba el rock and roll., Y ellos logran en sus guitarras una magia especial. Gracias por ese 5-0

Why nobody says that Skip Moore was their first drummer and they recorded Walk Don't Run with him? and then he left the band to help his family?. Shame.
