The Ventures

Diamond Head was created by Dan Hamilton at the age of 15-16 when he met all the members of "The Ventures" in a recording studio, thanks to his older brother Judd, who was the band's roadie. The Ventures had run out of ideas, and Judd suggested they listen to the song his brother had composed in those days. Don and Bob lent a guitar to Dan, who played the entire song perfectly, surprising the guys. They called Nokie to listen to it as well, and they were so pleased with the song that they recorded it immediately. Months later, the song sold over 1 million copies in Japan. It was Dan's first million-dollar success, and with that money, he bought his first house in Los Angeles. Dan later played as a backup musician with The Ventures for many years, composed "Escape" and several other songs for The Ventures, and also played guitar for Jerry Lee Lewis, Chad and Jeremy, Ronnie and the Daytonas, Glen Campbell, was part of T-Bones, and eventually formed his own Soft Rock band, "Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds." Dan composed his songs with his acoustic guitar, so it's likely that Diamond Head originated from an acoustic guitar in its beginning, but Dan was already an astonishing guitarist at the age of just 15. 🎶🎸❤
The Ventures recorded Diamond Head in the recording studio, and they even recorded the entire album in one day of recording, with Diamond Head being the last song recorded
That's right! Danny was an excellent guitarist, composer, and singer. A complete and incredible musician. If you listen to all the songs that Danny composed, his guitar is unique. He should have much more recognition in the music world, but he was a very reserved and humble guy. 💖 His voice was so smooth yet powerful, a master of musical harmony.😊

@@M.hakase I believe the type of sound is also shaped by the composer, and if you consider that Dan Hamilton composed Diamond Head and Escape (also Gallop, Kandy Koncoction, War of the Satellite, Exit by Mel Taylor, and Wild and Wooly), you can perceive a unique way of playing the guitar. There is a demo of Dan Hamilton for Escape on KZbin, and I have another unreleased demo. His instrumentals were magnificent.
