Auguste Rodin is miles better. Was in third gear and did not blow after the race. He ran the fastest final two furlongs in the Epsom Derby of all Winners since 1991 and the third fastest over the final 3.44 furlongs only behind the greats- Galileo and Nijinsky. We haven't seen the best of Auguste Rodin as yet. Immaculately bred!

I don't know if everyone is afraid to call it what it is because it's Coolmore/Ballydoyle but calling those reminders "two pretty firm cracks" you are either blind or are not calling it as it is for a reason. Look at the over head shots they are glancing blows. Look where his arm finishes compared to Moores after each hit. This is not Heffernans style. If you look at any race he's won and look at the whip arm action its totally different to this. Racing media afraid of Aidan and "The Lads" in case they stop talking to them. If they do meet again Auguste Rodin will most likely beat Adelaide River but that doesn't vindicate the poor ride and reporting on this race. This was the time to beat him.

Very interesting analysis. On show some 2024 Classics winners. Moore had to get serious with his whip on Auguste Rodin who was driven out in the final furlong until he got a length advantage on the persistent runner up. A bit lazy perhaps, but suspect he can be beaten for finishing speed over 10 furlongs.

I think we can all agree that Auguste Ro din underperformed on the day, and it may well be true that he'd beat the runner up comfortably next time; however that's not the point. The true point is did because he underperformed, did he need a helping hand from his stablemate on this occasion. It seemed to me that that is quite🎉 possible: aderladeriver's jockey declined to use the whip when the favourite looked most vulnerable, was struggling to get the better of his stablemate, only when Rodin was beginning to reassert to Herrman use his whip, and then it was to no avail. If you apply critical judgment to viewing you might come to the same diagnosis.
