This was one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to. They were astonishingly good live in the EP’s / Storm In Heaven / pre-definite article period. They weren’t exactly bad live later on, but Nick was always a bit more on the fringes because the songs were more verse chorus verse, whereas in the early days where the songs were considerably more free-form, he was just allowed to let it rip, and it was like nothing I’d ever heard.

Love early Verve 1st 2 albums genius. Anyone notice Bunnymen influence. Heavy pounding bass and primal drumming. no solos. lots of feedback and sonic landscapes

I worked at this place(Town'nd Country) for 2 years I didn't see that awesome gig But...! I saw the Pogues I had a beer with ... Joe STRUMMER during the repétition :)) I talked to LEMMY impressive there was a loads of awesome bands at the times,I can't even remember all the names. After the gigs there were late parties upstairs. I was the only French Guy" staff member
