I honestly feel so sorry for anyone who is too young to have experienced the 90's. There will never be a time as artistically rich and intense, with true and important artists, and music like this. I thank God that my teen years were squarely within the 90's.

Myriam H To be honest, I love his ego :) He was not shy to loop his own voice on Love is Noise. He repeatedly used his songs to tell us what was he through. Shame I never saw him live. I might fulfill that dream hopefully :) I think I heard more than enough of Bittersweet Symphony, which is a shame, because it's a damn good song.

jan pasek I hadn't heard them in decades, so few weeks ago, hearing Lucky Man really made my heart smile. Then a friend and I were talking about weeping willow trees and this one came up. Then it happened again, so I found and played the song. Now, all day until now I'e been tortured with Weeping Willow as the eternally ethereal, comforting, and hypnotic ear worm.

The genius of this song/record is the sequence of this song followed by 'Lucky Man' on the LP. The fact that Richard and the band can so poignantly express both extremes in life is proof of their collective genius. The Verve will always be criminally underrated, especially here in the US. It's a shame that they had to break up three times because musical chemistry is a blessing from the universe.
@fju21128 жыл бұрын
+musicsaves97 it really is and i wish they'd all realize this. i heard ashcroft's new track. it's pretty good but tell me that song wouldn't be better with his three bandmates backing him? Urban Hymns would have been a disaster compared to what it turned out to be, if it had gone on as planned (an Ashcroft solo album). Forth was a decent return to form...too bad it's unlikely we'll see a Fifth.
