If season six was a school grade, it would be like an essay or story that got an 82 or 83. A high C+ for those abroad and not familiar with the American grading system. It can be good, but is held back by the flaws in the more important aspects of it like the character writing, the execution and the way it handled its fundamentals.

34:14 I actually got the Salty’s Secret VHS back when it was new, and 8 (almost 9) yearsold me thought that there was a link between it and Salty’s Lighthouse. Should be noted that while I was familiar with Salty’s at the time, I wouldn’t see the “real” version of TUGS until I was about 13.

Season 6 is the type of season I put on when I don't feel well and I want to watch something Thomasy, but something that's fairly run-of-the-mill, mundane, and you're just able to watch the residents of Sodor do their thing. While I agree that Alec Baldwin's narration in Series 6 is so dreadfully plain and dull when compared to Series 5, its oddly comforting to me. Its rather consistent, and all of the new characters have good voices, such as Cranky, Salty, Elizabeth, etc. so it makes those voices stand out amongst the others. In that regard, he reminds me of Ringo Starr from S1-S2 whose voice was very consistent for all of the S1 characters, but he put more of an effort with the S2 newbies to make them stand out such as Donald, Douglas, Daisy, & Harold. It is kind of crazy how much the narration impacts the model era of Thomas in terms of story, much more than the CGI series ever did, as with that you have multiple voice actors and a wide range of voices, while all of Series 1 to 12, barring TATMR, just had the single narrator. The narrator makes a huge difference. I really wish Brandon narrated the rest of the S6 episodes, since honestly they're my preferred narrations for the English-speaking dubs. Angelis to me is fine, in S6, but Brandon was super consistent in his energy across S6-S12 narrations, while Angelis slowly loses energy as each season goes on, and its made so apparent when listening to S16 narrations compared to S6 narrations.
