So, hey, Jon, great video. Always have loved stories of ALL the different myths from various pantheons, and yes, I've HEARD of Apollo, but never knew extensively all the things about him you've talked about him in this video. Having said that, I would love to hear more about him in another video, maybe an "Apollo Extended" video, perhaps, as I'm sure there's plenty more you can tell. You have a great approach in the way you tell these stories, and I'd like to hear more. Thank you.

the funniest characterization of Apollo was in Young Hercules. In a Flashback story on "Hercules: the Legendary Journeys" We see a College Age Apollo, and he's running a Frat House type Temple. he also uses a sunbeam as a skateboard and just flies around like a California Surfer Dude.

Watched the video, and it’s full of inaccuracies to what the Greeks saw Apollo as. Apollo’s origins are very simple: he is believed to be a foreign god from either Crete or Anatolia, or he is of Greek origin but has had a lot of influences of various foreign deities. The Hittites had their God Aplu, who was the god of plagues. In Wilusa (Troy or Ilion) they worshipped a deity named Appalunias, and in the Iliad Apollo is the patron god of the city of Troy, and is not recognised as an Achaean deity. Apollo had a lot of functions in Greek society, but his primary roles were as a role model of the Greek way of living, representing the Oracle of Delphi, as a healer and protected deity, but also a patron deity for herdsmen and shepherds. He was worshipped as “Apollo Carneios” in Sparta, and that epithet was depicted with ram’s horns. There are a lot of myths regarding Apollo’s I’ll behaviour by modern (and old standards) but most of them are written by the Roman poet Ovid, who got banished by Augustus for writing ill about the gods.

The thing that I find fascinating about some Greek Myths would change or combine Gods together because they would have something similar they were a patron God of. For some reason Apollo and Helios were combined into one deity. After watching this, it kind of makes sense. I had always believed that Apollo was the God of Light instead of the God of Sunlight.

The myths are not meant to be taken literally because not even the Greeks believed them . myths served a purpose greater than just blindly following them . as I said myths are not meant to be taken literally for example the myth of marsyas is not real it was written by people of Athens who disliked flute music (music instrument of marsyas) and preferred lyre music (Apollo's instrument) so the myth is indicative of likes and dislikes of Athenians other myths maybe like pan challenging him and midas getting donkey ears (the myth of pan was written for mere entertainment by ovid) pan basically replaced marsyas myth as to paint Apollo in a better light. So you see he ain't a jerk

I think what grinds my gears is how people hate “Lore Olympus” because it’s not “true to the mythos” when Rachel the creator literally says it’s her own rendition of the comic, there’s so many versions of the myths which is why I love every different one because it’s a lot to take in from one character but different versions of who they could have been. Anyway loved the video lol

Well there are people who wourship the greek godss, and some Lore Olympus fans attacked, and sent death threats to them, especially those who primarily wourship Apollo, because of the portray of him on the comic, but I heard about people who got hate, and death threats from them, because they favourite greek god is Apollo. Yes there are different version of every myth, but I think some Lore Olympus fans are uncaplebol to get this, and I think, this toxicity is one of the reasons why people started to hate Lore Olympus. To be clare I read a few chapters from it, but it's just not for me, and I have no problem if someone enjoy the comic, my only problem is the behavior that I mentioned. Stephen Fry has written some great books on Greek mythology! He takes some creative liberties but for the most part he tells the stories accurately and always with a lot of fun bits of trivia thrown in there. You can experience a tremendous amount of the myths we’ve discovered just by reading those. Hope that helps :)
