I love how you really give us a good look at the knife.

Parcel hook is good for pulling up tent stakes, working with hook screws, and of course pulling off beer can tabs.

Good to know!

I carry my Fieldmaster a lot, especially for in the woods/camping use. I like that it has a phillips driver instead of cork screw, although I'd prefer the phillips to come out the end instead of the side. Regardless, it's hard to go wrong with a Victorinox, no matter which version. They have something for everyone.

Another awesome option. I'll prolly get that one too...

The flathead on the can opener handles most Phillips in most EDC situations.
@Pinki20193 жыл бұрын
If you add the Rambler keychain model, then you have more options to handle screws, that probably will cover all EDC bases for most people.
@Pinki2019 Жыл бұрын
@@shawnpatrick1877 The Phillips on the Rambler handles most toys, battery compartments, etc. But when I meant EDC, I meant only needing a screwdriver once in a blue moon. If you need a screwdriver every day I'd think you'd carry something better than a SAK for that. But everyone's different. And I store a small paperclip in the corkscrew. Comes in very handy for lots of things. Fits in the corkscrew flush if you angle it right.

I’ve changed my Huntsman’s scales to hi-vis yellow Plus scales. Opened up the 4th hidden tool slot for the toothpick so I can also carry the Firefly fire steel, with the glasses driver and tinder in the corkscrew 👍🏼

Probably best not to get the camo version for use in the woods. Hard to find if yo drop it.
@5MinuteKnives3 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I hoped the navy camo would be blue enough to stand out a touch. Just second cool for me. I see why everyone has the bright red ones though...

Picked up an Outrider after I lost my huntsman, love it. I use them camping/outdoors instead of everyday carry. Horizontal leather sheaths made for Buck 110 work good for both Edit on the knife model
@5MinuteKnives3 жыл бұрын
Those horizontal sheaths sound like the perfect way to carry this. Thanks!

I got a huntsman recently. My first knife in years. I just learned about the outrider and am kinda wishing I’d saved up for that. I do enjoy the huntsman but the outrider looks so good. Locking blade and longer tools stand out a lot to me. Won’t be able to budget that for awhile though they’re prices are fair

You use the back of the saw dude. Haha. It also works as a spoke shave or a ferro rod striker. Awesome display of carrot 🥕 torture though

Boxes and cardboard should be cut apart with boxcutters. Especially regular or repetitive box cutting. The impurities and especially silicates can harm even much better steel. Cardboard is always best cut with a a decent, cheap boxcutter. Enough of cardboard cutting as a test of any basic, general use blade! Use the tool made for the job. I am a 50± year Victorinox user, and I don't sharpen all the time. I also strop more than sharpen. Thanks for the review - we all have our own experiences. Cheers!
@5MinuteKnives2 жыл бұрын
for sure. I mostly strop mine as well. Just pointing out the steel on the blade isn't hard use at all. Other than that, I carry my evo18 every day still. :)
