Why couldn't she do both? The show is called The View - different women with different views, I believe is what Barbara Walters always said was THE premise of the show. And what I like to say to people who start bible-thumping, is that for every lesson you see in the bible, you'll find another passage that says just the opposite. Well, aside from God or religion, ppl act on faith everyday. That's how we are able to put our trust in ppl. I don't have proof of my mother's love for me. Love doesn't come with logic, but I would be miserable if i didn't have faith in her love for me. Deity or no deity I could care less. But of course one could argue that relationships could not be made that way bc it keeps one, distant, cold, and non-communicable, and possibly unhappy. I hate hearing about an "individual relationship with god." How can you have any kind of relationship with someone you can't see, can't hear, never hear from, and can't even prove he exists! It is pure speculation whether some god is listening or caring about what you are saying. In my opinion, this is a bit ridiculous. And don't tell me to read the bible. The bible was written by a bunch of guys in the bronze age who thought the world was flat! There is no proof that those words were dictated by a higher being. The people who tell you that are the clergy who don't want to lose their gig. This is my opinion, of course, but how can intelligent people be misled these days by this BS about some guy in the sky? We need to get past this stuff and be good to each other because we are all humans on the same planet. We need each other to survive and it is right. Not because we have been threatened by some being to do what he says or go to hell!!! Let's all grow up and find the truth!!

Jessica, you don't understand what is going on in politics right now. They use the prayer card to act like we are powerless ..... when we are not. There many things that could have been done to shorten those 64 days, 75 days, 87 days ...... but like any corporation, they drag their feet, so that the government is forced to pick up more and more of the tab. And our politicians drag their feet, as well. It's a game, and it's played against us. The computer you use to type your answer out, the electricity, ...your supermarket, TV, phone ...ummmm almost EVERYTHING that makes our lives more physically convenient and full ...... no one "prayed" for ...... they are the result of thinking, hard work, and science (opposite of religion). So it's not that we are bashing prayer. I pray .... because it makes me feel good, and it's after I have done MY part .... everything I can do, in a certain situation. Prayer is not the first and only way of making lives better. What I am bashing is falling for what these "respected people of the community" tell us to do, ... and that's the best they can do. There are real people suffering out there. I am for what will REALLY helps them ..... and that is rolling our sleeves up and getting to business.

Jessica Stewart First of all I highly doubt someone has spat in your face because your beliefs. I think religious people just get very disgruntled when someone points out a little logic to you and you feel like you are being trampled on for it. Maybe someone is just trying to bring logic and reason into your world. Maybe if you would actually sit down and listen to what they are trying to tell you instead of getting defensive from the start, you would learn something. I'd just like to say I wouldn't doubt her about someone spitting in her face because I've been experiencing similar situations myself. As a matter of fact it was only about a year ago I watched a grown man rip a cross off a woman's neck and call her a fanatic because she had the nerve to thank God for helping her find the strength in herself to save herself from hard drugs and the streets. She wasn't trying to convert anyone and we weren't discussing religion or politics or logic we were talking about how happy we were just to be ALIVE and FREE. Also here's a hint on how to tell the difference between someone religious and a fanatic - REAL religious people don't hold the Bible to the high standard a fanatic does. We view the Bible as a simple guide book on how to love without expectations, how to live without hate, and how to honor our choices and a fanatic throws verses from the Bible at you because they are too insecure and too stupid to realize that God is more than a book and that He doesn't need them to convert the masses or ANYONE for that matter all He is needs is for us to just believe and treat others with kindness in our hearts and respect....even if we don't get the same respect back.. so in the future don't just lump us all in together like that because that makes you no better then the fanatic screaming in your face.
