Interesting! I’ve been Looking for inputs on this. I focus on a point in the grass in front of the ball for irons and at the ball for hybrids/wood. For the driver I focus on a point behind the driver. This helps me to move the low point of the swing.

Hey Alex, can you help me with my approach shots on a downhill lie? I struggle getting the ball high enough to hold a green. Especially when the pin is in the front and there’s hazard (water) to the right. I always seem to fade these shots into trouble despite typically being a drawer of the ball… thanks!

Thank you for a good idea. Would looking at the front of the ball have a similar effect as selecting a dot. The dots were great for highlighting your tip. Have I missed the point of your tip? I agree that one of my many faults is looking at the back of the ball & probably leaning back. Renewed thanks for all your valuable advice.

Hi Alex I'm a subscriber to your KZbin channel and find your content very informative. I'm nearly 47 and playing golf for 12 years. I was playing off 11 about 4 years ago, getting out 4/5 times a week. With a combination of 4 year old twins and hip and back issues I'm not getting out much and when I do I'm playing poorly. I'm out to 18 but hoping I've turned a corner. I'm not a big hitter(7 iron 150 yards) and I'm looking to change my irons. I think I'm either going with the Callaway Paradyms or the Mizuno jpx923 hot metals. I'm just wondering would you have any advice,I know you don't do club reviews? I suppose I'm looking for forgiveness with some extra distance (isn't everyone!!!) Thank you Alex.

Hi Alex, when i lean forward as you do i tend to blade the ball, then that makes me hesitant to use speed, I'm caught in a bad cycle. i do good when practicing but struggle during a comp round, any ideas for a fix? thanks Terry from OZ

so as the ball shifts in my stance my viewpoint on the ball should be shifting in the opposite direction. that makes it easy to remember.

I've tried this recently with my full irons, it does tend to help a little bit. My biggest problem is hitting fat shots, so frustrating, at least when I hit it thin it still gets some distance but when you stick the club in behind the ball and it goes 50 yards up the fairway with a 7 iron, that's frustrating...

Great tip Alex. My problem is I hear all these and then when I address the ball I over think and fat/thin it. How do you keep the yips out of your head playing shots? (FYI- I’m a HC of 30 so have quite a few things to work on!)
