I was born in 1967. I was into the “ new wave of British heavy metal “ in the early 1980’s. My friend in 10th grade turned me onto The Number of the Beast in 1982. I bought Motley Crue’s Shout at the Devil in 1984 I was in 11th grade and I saw them on that tour in the fall of 1983 in Madison Square Garden. I think they opened up for Iron Maiden whose album piece of mind came out earlier that year. There were lots of good Metal bands such as Krokus, Saxon, Nugent, Priest , Schenker and a very young Metallica. I would go to the local record store who I knew would have European and British import albums. They were more expensive and had the hard plastic around It for it was imported albums. Good days indeed

Here is some interesting trivia - A guy that was in Pretty Boy Floyd before their first album came out named "Kery Doll" pressed up a bunch of bootlegs back in the mid 80s of the first Motley Crue 7" single that had Stick To Your Guns and Toast Of The Town on it. That was pretty much the only way to get it unless you lived in LA and got an original copy directly from the band. The Kery Doll bootleg is still widely circulated and is kind of expensive too. I always wondered if that's how the other guys in PBF even knew about the song

I first saw Kiss from that 1976 TV thing you guys were goofing on in another video when I was 7 years old. I liked them OK but never really got into them until "Creatures of the Night" which was my first Kiss album. "Love It loud" is still my favorite Kiss song ever with "War Machine" a close second. Years later a friend turned me on to the "Dynasty" album which is way underrated. I even remember when it came out the cries of them selling out to disco. Yet there is only one disco song on the record. Has like four killer Ace Frehley tunes on it.

Nice collection! I've still got most of my vinyl collection stored away too, including a lot of KISS, Def Leppard and others. I've still got my original Hotter Than Hell, Destroyer, Love Gun, Alive II, Gene Solo (Venezuelan copy) and a bunch more, up to and including Monster.

This video brought a lot of my vinyl memories. For example I used to own a Motley Crue 45 that one side had Take me to the top and the other one was Toast of the town. I also remember to own Rought Cutt a band that was heavy promoted by Dio.Also, Malice (Canadian band my guess ), Seventh Star featuring Tony Iommi ,KISS unmasked that vinyl came with a big poster and the paperwork to join the kiss army...lol, Iron Maiden life after death, Scorpions big world tour and some others that I’m still trying to remember....like yours most of my vinyls were Kiss take care!

Im 40 now, so I was a few years younger than these guys back then. I grew up around 2 different kind of teens, both of which left lasting tastes in music. One group was pure metal heads. The other listened to bands like The Cure and The Smiths. I don't care what you were into in the 80s, it was all good.

Awesome sets and old vids Darrell. The good thing I liked about KISS albums compared to some of other bands were the surprises inside like the platinum record, tattoos, mini bio/tour books and of course the posters. I don't know if you're into Styx, but the Grand Illusion poster was cool. And last, were you into " Groove magazine " ? They put in some badass KISS posters.
