The Prix record also features Jon Tiven who released the Van Duren lp on his Big Sound label. Great stuff!

Hey there... excellent video here!! I too included Jeff Porcaro as my drummer for my video. I agree about the Randy Van warmer... mellow and breakup to the core. Just subbed you. Cheers from Canada. Darryl.

Great tag reponse Jimmy! I for one am glad you returned to making videos this year. You have an amazing collection and I especially like the indie jangle/power pop stuff! Btw I’ve been on a big Tobin Sprout kick lately can’t get enough of Moonflower plastic and Carnival boy solo albums and recently discovered his early band Fig 4. Cheers. Matt
@VinylfromtheundergroundАй бұрын
Thanks!! And Nice pick ups with the Toby lps. I still need the fig 4 lp. Been afraid to spend the $$ without hearing the entire lp. Can’t find the whole thing online to sample.

Fun tag response! I also went with MBV to represent shoegaze! 😎 You’re the first channel I’ve ever seen to mention that Lilys album, so- kudos!! Cheers-R

Elmocambo is a club in Toronto. Famous live show in the 70’s by the Stones (one side of Love You Live was from that show). Elvis Costello released a live at the Elmo record. I met Tommy Stinson at the Elmo. Enjoyed your video.

Great tag Jimmy. That Cure lp is a great breakup lp. I like to watch your videos, pause as you mention an artist I've never heard of and then quickly stream them.. it takes me forever to get through your videos though. I like that Chris Bell lp. The Lillys isn't grabbing me on 1st listen.. i'll try again. Space Needle, never heard of them. I love so many of the albums behind you and currently.. that Outsiders CG album.. such a great one. Cosmic Brian's channel is so great!!

Thank you Chris!! I used to stream in between but kept getting hammered with copyright tags and even had a video wiped out. Appreciate you

What’s on your wall bottom left if you’re watching the video? Looks like Starbuck but j can’t get a good look.
@Vinylfromtheunderground28 күн бұрын
LOL. Yes! I was waiting for someone to ask about that one and why it’s on the wall. There are many I can replace it with that are collector verified but I just love that cheesy Starbucks lp and cover. Its cool.

@@Vinylfromtheunderground it's a guilty pleasure of mine! some of those soft rock guys were probably on more drugs than the psyche guys.....moonlight feels right......check out the hollins ferrylp I reviewed, i think you'd dig it if you don't now it.

I have Relative Clean Rivers and it is cool but never heard of Guided by Voices. What should I try by this group....
@Vinylfromtheunderground26 күн бұрын
For guided by voices start with Alien lanes. Also check out bee thousand and under the bushes under the stars. If you want more fidelity I would try mag earwig and isolation drills. Thanks for watching

Great list of records, almost everything you show here is stuff I have or stuff I want :). Amazing. I probably agree that Big Star is the best from 1974, or maybe Rock Bottom by Rober Wyatt. GbV, I am the Cosmos, Lilys, Wire, Elephant 6 etc etc... so much great stuff! Dude, Stockholm is in Sweden... haha, but thanks for the shoutout! Cheers!

Great video Jimmy, I 100% agree with you about Steve Earle, dig his music, always have, I own every record and 7" that he's put out, seen him live several times, but I'm totally sick of celebrities, athletes and singers/bands letting us know how we should live and who to vote for, they can have their own opinion, but most of us just want to hear their music, not their mouths, a few you shown here I never heard of before, time to do some homework, thanks for showing your list and I can truly tell you have a lot of passion and love for music, take care ✌

@VinylfromtheundergroundАй бұрын
I sure do. Have everything by GBV, pollard and all of their side projects. Also have other members records like Tobin Sprout, cobra verde etc. I stopped buying GBV and related after the reunion lps in 2012 I believe.

@@Vinylfromtheunderground The GBV/Pollard releases would constitute an average vinyl collection, in terms of numbers, as I know you know. Those GBV shows are great memories. The club is open!

I think these are better if you don’t over think these type of videos. Does genre defining need to be the first? Not only haven’t I heard Guided By Voices live. I haven’t heard them at all. Thanks for the shout out. I’m with great company here.
