Pete I so respect your perspective. You’re seeing the big picture that’s what we all must do. I’ve been told by some they look for family farms like mine and yours just to cause issues with our cost to allow the farms to fail so they can purchase the land for development due to the debts collected. Those people don’t scare me but it’s something that people think that way. I use Clapper to reach people like you are here on KZbin. Pete keep up the good fight sir. God bless from another small farm in North Carolina.

I grew up on a farm, and after our barn burnt when I was seven, we didn't rebuild. I was lost, but fortunately I could play on other farms nearby. I've always lived a farm lifestyle, although I only have 7 acres. But when I admit I only have 7 acres, feeling not worthy, since our farm was 140 acres, folks these days are so envious. They would love to have what I have, and I know I'm fortunate, but I also worked really hard to have what I have.

Outstanding video this morning! Yeah, I was hoping for another segment on the calf-to-be-named-later thread, but your talk today hit it out of the park. I feel blessed that I live in a relatively rural area of Maine, where many people are self-sufficient, and I can go for long walks and enjoy nature for what it is. People often ask me why I left my previous job that paid more than twice what I am making now...I just smile at them, and say "Happiness!"

No wonder we are drawn to your channel. This is the core of what we are doing on ours. Mr. Pete you always have such an elegant way of putting things that helps us understand and grow. On our homestead we believe that your spirit is always longing for the things of God which is anything in nature, man made things may bring you a little happiness for a moment but will leave you longing and empty in the end. As I'm listening to you talk about how you stumble over the words to find to describe the happiness you find from being outside on your farm, I'm walking across my yard with all of my chickens and turkeys following closely with the biggest smile on my face. Leaving our hometown and us buying our farm was the best decision we've ever made. It's hard work, but it's the most rewarding thing in the world. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

The other day our power went out for about a half an hour, and, as usual, I first get annoyed, pissed, and flustered. After a few minutes, though I realize that most of my daily life relies on things that are electronic, how most of my life is spent doing things that are not important, but simply diversion, an insulation from reality. Soon my annoyance turns to gratitude for a little while of (forced) peace and introspection, and I begin to experience what it means to live in the moment, in the real world, instead of a synthesized one. But, the lights flicker on, and the computer chimes, and the magic is gone. But not forgotten. Thanks Pete.

Thank you for the insight, thank you for the motivation, thank you for the true-blue honesty you and Hillary bring to my space. After retiring from the Marine Corps, I've looked forward to moving back to the simple life where pleasure is drawn from the time spent on your land. Although I can never reach the size of your operation, you inspire me to remember what matters most. Hi Pete. I could not agree with you more!! The bulk of our society has become so disconnected from the very basics of life! Following your daily routines is refreshing for me, mostly because you resonate my thoughts to a "T". As much as I still work some off the farm, the time I spend working my farm is what really keeps me grounded. Some folks seem to look down on farmers as simple people........ I'll take that as a compliment! Carry on friend! Craig Central Alberta, Canada. Eh!

❤ this! I have been contemplating deleting FB, because of what you said. I feel i have lost family to the rabbit hole of trash and it makes me so angry. I left my job pf 10 yrs, that i was no longer happy at, and though I don't have a farm, in the past 1.5 yrs have renovated our unusable yard into a more usable space. Still not done, but have come a long way. Have planted many roses, that bring me joy and happiness. Pruning and tending to them, gives me peace. It may not be hay, cattle or chickens, but its my way of tending to a small bit of peace and beauty I need, and hopefully others enjoy. My nails get dirty, my shoes get muddy, but it feels good.

Pete, what a wonderful video! My wife and I retired to North Carolina about 12 years ago to a very nice 6 acre piece of land. She has always had a green thumb when it came to flowers so we got actively involved in vegetable gardening. It was absolutely the best thing we could have done. Not only do we have fresh vegetables in season but we also can and have great things to eat year around. Additionally, we trade with neighbors for eggs, etc. and have really enjoyed "getting back to the land". P.S. No Facebook here except for family and friends. Thanks again Pete.

Really respect your opinion. We've been trying to keep our social media as social. No politics, etc. Thanks for sharing what you do! Many of us are moving back to the farms and enjoying nature! Cheers!

Thanks Pete! I believe that l had pick up early on probably from the very first video of yours that I watched. I personally believe that you have a special and sort of unique style and messaging that needs to be shared. Keep doing your thing and I'll keep watching.👍

A great message. We moved from NJ to rural Mass a few years ago so I could create my permaculture project. Thanks for your inspiring videos!

I agree with all that you said and that is a big reason we moved to the middle of nowhere on 5 acres and see Antelope, cows and llamas running around all the time and love every minute of it we’ll said Pete. Yours is the Best channel out there.👍💞
