This is my great,great grandfather on my father's mother's side. I have read about him all my life. ❤ I literally cried seeing Alexander Neibaur face on your video thumbnail. Alexander is my pioneer ancestor. Alexander is truly a true follower of Jesus Christ. ❤ He also had a vision when he saw about 16ish? Where he saw an angel who showed him a book and the angel told him it contained the word of God.

When I was attending BYU and I worked at First security bank I was reading a book by Ivan Jay Barrett called shows the Smith and the Restoration. And I absolutely love that book I was a convert and so it was a neat experience so I’m gonna share with you so as I was reading the book, a man came up and elderly man came up to me and he asked me about the book and I just went on and on and on about how amazing this book was and how I was a new convert and everything and he was just smiling and smiling, and then he handed me his check to cash to withdraw money out of the account and guess what the name was on the check Barrett and I looked and he was waiting for me to see if I would recognize his name on the check. Of course I did! I was so excited and he said here let me sign my book to my number one fan. And I still have that book to this day.

Alexander Neibaur was an ancestor of Hugh W. Nibley and left an amazing secondhand account of the First Vision in which the clothing of the Lord was described in some detail, and the Gods were described as having blue eyes.

This is my husband's great grandfather!!! An amazing man! Different pronunciations. Some say NI bower. We say Ni bur. He joined the church due to visions he had had of the Book of Mormon.

We have a bunch of Neibaurs in our area of Idaho. They pronounce it as : Ni ( long I sound as in I)-bar.😊It’s a German derivative name. In Germany, you’d say: Ni ( long I sound)-bauer ( bower, as in “ow”)

Ivan J. Barrett was my branch president when I was a missionary at the MTC in Provo. He wrote some church history books.

I believe there is separate experience of Alexander seeing the Savior with the school of the prophets also.

He was also shown in vision the book of Mormon before the Elders brought it to his home.

Orson Hyde (the one who dedicated the land for the return of the Jews to their homeland) was of the tribe of Judah. When was he baptized?
@amberpelton5679Ай бұрын
@@11of13 Alexander Neibaur was baptized April 9, 1838 by Elder Isaac Russell.
@11of13Ай бұрын
@@amberpelton5679 thank you. Elder Hyde was an apostle from 1835. That looks to predate the claim of the first Jew baptized into the church by a few years. Since Elder Hyde was from the tribe of Judah, that means he was a Jew by birth. So I think that maybe Orson Hyde has claim to being the first Jew, at least by blood. Not that it matters any. I’m glad they both embraced the gospel.
@jillosborn6886Ай бұрын
@11of13 I think it was referring not only to the tribe of Judah, but also the culture and a religion of Judaism. Orson Hyde does not fit that description. Lorenzo Snow and Eliza R. Snow were also from the tribe of Judah.
