I think it might be more likely that the visitor died because it was not used to our universe, but maybe it also just left of its own accord, I dont know. I love how open to interpretation this movie is in its simplicity.

What if the visitor doesnt look like that, since it exists in a world with negative time, this implies that matter is negative, these creatures dont occupy space around them, they are empty spaces in which matter occupies them, like reverse silouhettes, and the visitors appearance is what our reality imagines it could look like, awesome shit

I have doubts whether that would actually be though. If by beginning and end of the universe u mean the theorised expansion and contraction cycle, that might not happen there. Because, it has negative space and negative matter. So what will actually expand in the big bang? Can matter even do that where space is reversed? Another thing is that if energy is reversed, can there be activity of anything to begin with? Would reversed activity be like activity as we know it? I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that I can't figure this shet out.

@squwaas4916 good point, i wasn't considering the impact of negative mass. That would make it accelerate faster in the direction it is being hit from, so a crunch might not explode or it would have more force? As for negative space, idk. There's a lot of symmetry in physics. It was even one of 3 big axioms for a while, until it was broken.

I really love the filter you used on your voice in the beginning! It really sets the mood of “old recording made by a scientist” instead of “generic voiceover”!! Man, ALL the sound design is just so great. I love the design of the visitor, the ring of empty space where we would expect a face. And I love how it didn’t do anything stereotypically evil. It just… existed. I really love analog horror like that. Keep making stuff, you have enormous potential!!!

Great little bit here. It would be fun to see this worked up into a full production. "Alien" is a relative thing. Our universe must have seemed just as incomprehensible to it. From its point of view it was suddenly sucked into a scene where none of its conventional references made any sense. It must have felt insane by the time it disappeared.

Question - if this lifeform comes from a plane with reversed positive & negative space, wouldn't that mean the entire realm is like an endless solid block of material, and the objects & creatures living inside it take the form of empty pockets or bubbles, sealed inside the block, which move by shifting & distorting the solid mass around them like the air bubbles that form inside glaciers? If so, shouldn't the Visitor be made out of negative space, and therefore be completely unable to exist in our world? Because the very fact that we can see it means it occupies positive space, contradicting the laws of its own reality
