I was mind blown away once i saw the nes version of it back in 2007. I could,vr only dream about it. This would,ve been a great alternative back in the 90’s when i had no snes.

If they were given another year of development, this could have been amazing. The control and jumping really need a lot more work.

IT kinda looks like if there was a MS DOS port of it tbh... still very impressive stretching the NES performance that high!

@@jaimecavazos9090 wow thanks! I can't promise I will always record directly from my CRT, it's a lot of hassle, especially with 4 cats around so I might go back to recording from emulators like I used to 2016, but the video format isn't going to change, it's just the way my videos are, slower paced and relaxing :)

People don't think so, but the Atari 7800 could have done a really nice job at its own version of SMW, it had the power to actually make it happen.

Why are we seeing this on a TV and not emulated?
@GamingPalOllieMK5 күн бұрын
Because I think it's more fun and authentic that way. Sure I can use the Death to Pixels shaders in RetroArch to make the emulator seem like a CRT and it's much easier and simpler for me to record off of RetroArch on PC than to set up my phone and get an angle that works and all that while I play, plus there's the added benefit of savestates too which is a blessing for recording. But, I like this vibe better, it's more raw, more real, you get to see what these games look like on an actual CRT TV, the kind of screens they were designed for. I'll probably go back to recording off of emulators for the most part, again, because it's simpler and less time consuming but I cherish these type of videos where the games are shown on an actual CRT, there's both that old school youtube vibe to this as well as it shows the games as they were intended to look on a CRT screen. I have nothing against emulation, don't get me wrong and with modern CRT Shaders it can look almost as good as CRT but still.

Looks can be deceiving, my friend :) but if you're able to get used to the jumping mechanics it isn't so bad actually, it's a very interesting experience.

I didn’t know about this port. Next time please don’t record the screen, try to capture it properly to get a real impression on how it looks and sounds.
@GamingPalOllieMK25 күн бұрын
THE only way to see how it looks properly is for me to record the screen of a CRT TV, tha's why I bought the SAMSUNG A55 because after testing my friend's A54 I realized that's what I needed to record from CRT TV best without breaking the bank. If anything getting the angle just right, worrying whether one of my 4 cats would jump on the phone and knock it down and all that is a lot more tedious than if I were to record off of an emulator or capture card, but the vibe you get when you record a screen like this, that feeling of being there is just irreplaceable to me, hence why I decided to go with this format, at least for bootleg games. How else am I going to give you that Eastern bloc or Balkan 90's vibe if I don't record a CRT TV for retro games? Or heck even modern games, there's this feeling of being there I dunno I really love this even tho it's more tedious to do than just to record from an emulator. I do have some upcoming videos that are all emulation with very nice shaders tho

These are called "demakes" right? You know games like this where you try to make a port of the game on the previous gen's (or occasionally even less!!) systems? I think the GBC port of Donkey Kong Country is the most famous "real" (not bootleg or homebrew) one right?
@GamingPalOllieMK22 күн бұрын
yeah people do call them demakes, to me they're just ports or remakes, demake is a dumb term really, just because it's on a less powerful system doesn't mean it's easier to make or anything, quite the contrary.
@JohnSmith-zw8vp22 күн бұрын
@@GamingPalOllieMK Well you gotta call them something! I just didn't know exactly what the right term was. For example, an enhanced remake of a classic game that removes eh, frustrating or inconvenient aspects from the original are called "quality of life improvements"
@GamingPalOllieMK22 күн бұрын
@@JohnSmith-zw8vp Oh I'm not denying that's the term I just generally don't use it, I think it's alright to use.
