The VIVO X60 PRO+ Goes against a REAL camera

Can the Zeiss enhanced, phone-camera king, the Vivo X60 pro+ hold against a real mirrorless?
I mean, a few years back you would have said that this is an apples-to-oranges comparison. But with Zeiss in the picture (apologies for the pun), I have high hopes. In this video, I compared the Vivo X60 pro+ vs. the Sony A7III with an f/4 Zeiss lens. Let's see how they pared.

I have not played with thew ultra, so it's a hard call. I can say that the X60 PP has one of the best cameras I've seen to date

On low light video I wish I could see what you could achive using manual mode with the Vivo, to reduce a bit the brightness.

Not a bad idea. We played with all modes. Sadly none was optimal for night shooting. It makes sense considering the small sensor

@@diyphotography Not "optimal" yes, but don't need to be. I ask because reviewers never give themselves the trouble and the difference can be dramatic and staggering. The biggest problem example are the current Xperias. On auto their video quality at night is like any other phone, switch to the camera pro that forces you to choose the settings like a real camera and is like you're really filming with a real Sony camera.

@@diyphotography I talk about this because for anyone with lower tier phones setting the settings manual is mandatory. I have two low end phones here and for video I use Open/HedgeCamera because despite giving very basic controls it's enough to make it able to record videos at night with acceptable quality. So little makes so much difference, it's always good to remind "common people" that they are under-utilizing their phones for their own detriment.

Not necessarily a fair review as you are using a kit lens on the Sony camera. You could get much better portrait results if you were using, for example a 85mm Sigma 1.4 art lens. Having said that, the phone does look pretty good.

Beside additional KZbin video there isn't any logic in your review. Cell phones have super tiny sensor and do tons of impruvments in software. Digital cameras as Sony A7III which I own (also Olympus EM1-III and several other) shoot what they see. The lens focal length and apature control the bocka. You c ca n take 20 portraits on 1 sec and all will be the same from bockae Try to shoot bascketball game with a cell and you will understand what I mean. However I Totaly agree that for excelent day light with no need to control depth of field and no need to print it as 1.5 meter photo on the wall then cell phones are Totaly ok.

Ezra, I whole-heatedly agree here. Phones are not cameras. If this was a sports shoot use case, the phone would be easily outdone. This of it as a way to show the progress phones have made over the years. They are not winning (and have much to catch up), but they at least get to compete.
