I take vivo’s X60 Pro+ phone around the city and show you my techniques for applying traditional filmmaking techniques to smartphone shooting.
Enter the vivo VISION+ Mobile PhotoAwards 2021: visionplus.vivo.com/en
Learn more about the vivo X60 Pro+ smartphone: www.vivo.com/en/products/x60p...
This top-of-the-line phone has impressive video features, including advanced stabilization and a super-wide camera with superior lowlight abilities.
A few quick tips for shooting with this phone:
- Use default camera app, default video mode for most situations
- Shoot 4k30p, then in editing slow to 80%. This gives you cinematic 24p with a slight slow motion effect
- Lock focus/wb/exposure before shooting by long-pressing the screen, then adjust brightness ny dragging down a bit to preserve highlights.
- Lowering your exposure will also enhance stabilization. Side note: stabilization is best in default video mode, not Movie or Night mode
- At night, lock exposure and drag down to preserve highlights. Avoid Night mode as it reduces resolution and stabilization quality.
- Try out the HDR mode. It seems to work well, I just didn't have time to fully explore it

Excellent Brandon. I vlog with Vivo X50 Pro and never used the on the fly adjusting and locking of exposure but will do now. Question: you mentioned on the X60 pro+ wideangle with gimbal defaults to 1080p (assume same on X70 Pro+ as same cameras). But can you shoot video in 1080p 60fps with gimbal /ultra stable activated, or only 1080/30? Thanks

I have a pair of lens from an old DSLR camera I want to incorporate with my smartphone camera, however they require "DOF" adapters and customized smartphone shooting rig for practical usage. DOF adapters are expensive. Please do a video on DIY building tutorial of --> DOF adapter and rig setup for smartphone camera. I have come across some content where people have built this adapter with combinations of lens and mounts, but they aren't very clear on it. If this topic is something you find interesting and would consider making content on, I would appreciate it. :)
