Dear Stalo I have just found your videos. Thank you very much for sharing. They are very helpful ❤ I have a question: when would you use a noun like ουρανό as a vocative word? Is it only in a poetic situation, (as it means you are addressing the sky directly) ? Thank you
@LanguagesWithStalo9 ай бұрын
Hi, Karen!! Welcome to my channel!! Thank you very much for your kind words!! You are absolutely right about the vocative of nouns like ουρανός, ήλιος, δρόμος, etc. It can be used in poetic or “dramatic” situations.

@@LanguagesWithStalo Oh thank you, very interesting. I am looking forward to seeing more of your videos. You present them really nicely and, for me, just enough in each one to absorb x

The word κρέας does have vocative. All the nouns have vocative. For the neuter nouns, like κρέας, the vocative is the same as the nominative. Thank you!

Η λέξη κρέας έχει κλητική. Είναι ουδέτερο ουσιαστικό, οπότε η κλητική είναι η ίδια με την ονομαστική. Ευχαριστώ!!

Thank you very much!! Thank you for the comment. Was my voice not clearly heard at times? And I assume the font size was sometimes a little too small, especially on a phone screen. I will have that in mind for next time! Thank you!!

btw why is o tighris, but to liodari. It is disrespect to lion
@LanguagesWithStalo Жыл бұрын
Actually, the tiger is usually a feminine noun, η τίγρη. Please watch my video on animal names, where I explain that the assignment of grammatical gender is completely arbitrary. You will also see there that there is a nice word for the male lion, ο λέοντας! Here is the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6LMoKR-jbl0pa8
