'The Voice' Alum Ryan Whyte Maloney Dead at 44

Country singer Ryan Whyte Maloney has died. Maloney wowed judges on Season 6 of competition show, 'The Voice.' On 'The Voice,' Maloney was on Blake Shelton's team, a professional relationship that continued after his time on the show. In 2024, Maloney and his band started a Las Vegas residency, playing in a venue co-owned by Blake Shelton. On January 29, the Clark County Coroner said Maloney died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot to the head. Ryan Whyte Maloney was 44 years old.

I had the good fortune of working with Ryan on several songs I was producing for a kids show. He was a total pro and his vocal tracks were just fantastic. I was just shocked and deeply shaken to hear this awful news about his passing. My heart goes out to his family. Ryan will be missed.

You can't understand why? It's just what a person does because their soul needs peace. The sadness is too much to take and they must go. Money can't cure anyone. I hid my thoughts and damage caused by a traumatic childhood for years. I couldn't be what I was supposed to be to people anymore. So I was 48 when I couldn't act anymore. PTSD is one diagnosis that is like a movie playing over and over. It will not stop and I will admit I think about checking out every day. My son has had 3 to 4 very close friends commit suicide so I am trying to keep holding on. If you think you just have to decide to happy you are ignorant. If that's the cure all of us that fight this battle would do that. RIP I am sorry for the pain and sadness you endured.
