That is what was always going to happen. For many reasons. GNT fit the mold, what society wants. Hailey was to young but was great for the show ratings. Neither of them had the skill and technic of the other three but they were correct in the most important way to the world, they LOOKED THE PART IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE. These shows have never been about America’s vote it’s always about wayyyyyyyy more. Half the ppl that went home from the top 13 WILL HAVE RECORD deals, probably before GNT does. In the end, it’s Always about a few major things: ratings, all around LOOK, and music style. The American vote does not compare to those three things. And b4 I get comments and dislikes about what I am posting, plz understand that just as others share their opinions I am only sharing mine. I can’t prove what I’m saying but no one can dis-prove it either. Just opinions! 💙

@@JourneyMirror I think you CAN be dis-proven. GNT is the only artist that consistently charted, not only that, but charted consistently over ADELE and TAYLOR SWIFT and people LOVE them. Many people love the family dynamic, as well as Bekah's crazy range, and the haunting sounds they produce. I don't understand how people are so shocked about how well they do, they are doing better in the music industry than anyone else on the show.

Not only did I like her voice the most, but I was excited that someone in their 50’s made it so deep into the competition because I’m sure that the vast majority of voters are young people. As much as I enjoy watching and listening to The Voice...I don't think it's fair to pit single singers against duos and trios. Instead the producers should create a sister show, 'The Voice: Harmonies'. It would be similar to the past CMT singing competition series 'Can You Duet?', that showcased acts like Joey & Rory, who went on to become country music stars with hit songs like 'Cheater, Cheater'. That said, I'm glad A Girl Named Tom won...though it wasn't surprising. They certainly deserved it.

I agree with you. Harmonizing always sounds better then one person singing. The show is The Voice, not The Voices. Not that it matters much. I haven't seen any winner if the voice ever become famous. Not like American Idol.

@@suepost9026 You're right that the Voice hasn't produced any Superstars like a Kelly (or Kellie) or Carrie or Jennifer. But Cassady Pope has carved out a successful career for herself...and I suspect that like Idol and America's Got Talent, other contestants have found ways to make a living by singing, though they're under the radar. I wish the shows, especially Idol would do "Where are they Now?" features. Still, many Wikipedia articles do update past contestants careers.

Even the comment of the judges when she auditioned sounded like she is a raw talent who has never been signed by any recording label and they (the show) was the first to discover and give her a break. Wendy Moten was once touted as someone that could follow Whitney's success because of her voice. Listen to her 'come on in out of the rain'. Now try to look back at how the judges are praising her as if she is like other contestants who never had any songs that became a global hit.

I was partial to GNT. I am a harmony nut, and they were so good, and I think did deserve to win. That said, it's not GNT's fault, but, in all fairness, The Voice should probably be for solo performers only. If not for GNT, Wendy would have won this, Hands down. She was fantastic. This is such a frustrating complaint: 3 on 1. Trios are three times more likely to screw up than a solo voice. The Voice has had 24 duos/trios since the beginning of the show, in 12 of its 21 seasons. Only one made it to the Finale (Season 4). Why are so many complaining now, when at long last, a duo/trio won?

As soon as I saw them as a trio, I knew they would win the whole thing. To me it was a given, these days they always want to change things up, and have the different one win. I'm not saying they weren't good. The girl has a wonderful voice. The one brother was okay, and the one who played the guitar wasn't that good. He was good at harmonizing, but not so good in his own. She won it for them, and they should've been equally talented, they weren't. But the different always wins. Just like years ago, the first deaf women win Miss America, The first Trans just won some other beauty pageants. I would never enter any contest where there was someone very diverse in it, because you are at a disadvantage. Maybe in some cases they should win, but that urge to set a precedent is so strong ,you will always wonder how fair was it.

No precedent here. The Voice has had 24 "group contestants" (duos/trios) from the start, in 12 of its 21 seasons. Nothing new at all. Only one group contestant (Swon Brothers, Season 4) made it to the Finale prior to GNT. No advantage or unfairness here. None.

@@brucegreer129 I have only watched the last 15 seasons, I don't remember any other trios. I do remember a few duos. I disagree with you. I definitely think it's an advantage to have 2 or 3 singing against one in the knock outs and the sing offs. The one person can sing great, but when you hear more then one voice , it just sounds better because they can harmanize better. One can sing in one key, the other can sing in another at the same time. You can't do that with one voice. Also with one voice, you can often be drowned out by multiple voices. I think the initial goal of the show, was to find that next star. I think a single person would be more successful then any duo or trio. It's not the 60s anymore.

@@brucegreer129 The things I pointed out are the advantage, although I do have to agree with you, that with a trio it's easier to mess up then one person. I hadn't thought of that. Many articles iv'e read really don't like the duo's or trio. It's not popular. But in reality, I don't know any winner of the voice that's made it big. I haven't watched American Idol in about 6 years, so I don't know if any if them made it big lately.. Kelly Clarkson, and Carrie Underwood are the biggest of any singing competition. 15 years or so, and they're both stronger then ever.

NO, GNT and Joshua should have been the top 2. Joshua got screwed,.. Jershika and Paris should have been booted and NOT made the finals. GNT trended #1 on I tunes, no one else has come close to downloads. they have a broad appeal, and are technically brilliant and they havent relied on distracting props dancers and stupid ass lighting stunts Just their harmonizing vocals and delivered arrangement, They are solid as in iconic groups of Crosby Stills and Nash (CSN ) Screamers like Jershika have a limited appeal, and I have NO interest in a bible rival of any song.
