Bill is such a nice guy. A couple years ago at a convention I got him to autograph my copy of A Goofy Movie, and he started doing the Goofy voice talking about the movie in character. Then he and Jason Marsden did announcements over the PA in character as Goofy and Max. It was pretty magical.

I met Bill Farmer during a comic con in the PNW. a friend of mine was his handler during the show and my squad went to bring her a couple of beers during some downtime. he introduced himself in a different voice when he shook each of our hands. it was super surreal. he's such a neat dude.

Not really. Most great voice actors put a lot of themselves into their characters.

@@DaRozeman Unless that you already have the voice for it. Some people unfortunately thinks that they can nail any voice as long as they keep working hard on it. That's not always the case. You may be able to get the accent down, but if you have what I'd argue is a type of a more aberrant vocal chord, there's not really that much that you can do about it. Except for maybe going for voices that meets that of one's own. I mean, when did you last hear the chipmunks sound like peg-leg Pete?

He is right about how Goofy comes across. The emotions... You can always hear, in his voice, this sense of 'I just wanna be friends' or the like. Even when angry or upset, he doesn't sound aggressive. Just that you've hurt his feelings or something along those lines.
