I think that’s a quirk of the job. We don’t hear the pitch of our own voices the way others hear them. So they’re constantly living with almost 2 versions of their “character.” So these voice actors will naturally be more forgiving of voices being in the wrong register, and they’ll pick up on things like dialect and diction much more precisely.
@AxiomRazor4 жыл бұрын
It's how actors help new actors get better. Positive feedback helps them feel like they're doing well, creative critique helps make them better. I actually knocked him and Maurice LaMarche for a spin when I turned my Pinky on. It's no Paulsen by far but he does show true appreciation for it.

I love this man to death. He is so pleasant to talk to and understanding, accommodating, and unafraid to screw up. I got to meet him at a con once, and I brought one of those old BK Kids’ Club Turtles videos for him to sign, and I ended up getting a small video with him where he was supposed to say “This place [the hotel where the con was] has more twists than a pretzel factory” because the episode I brought was the one where April has a “Prince and the Pauper” moment, and the guys are running through this huge mansion in Manhattan trying to find her. And he flubbed the line, which is not unexpected because it had been 30 years since he had to say it right, but he didn’t cut or get down on himself or anything. He just poked fun at himself for a second, nailed it the second time, and thanked me for coming out. I thanked him right back for being so awesome, and I still have the video.

I LOVED Pinky and The Brain back in the day. I even had a T-Shirt with them on it I wore all the time. "They're Pinky and The Brain Yes, Pinky and The Brain One is a genius The other's insane. They're laboratory mice Their genes have been spliced They're dinky They're Pinky and The Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain Brain."

The best part of this is how encouraging Rob Paulsen is of these people and how much he enjoys watching them. What a great guy!

Don't know why, but seeing voice actors his age that can pull of a convincing young character voice is amazing to me.

My all time favorite Pinky-ism is when Brain says "Hey Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?" to which Pinky says "I think so, Brain, but me and Pippi Longstocking? What would the children look like?"

Never could get any of your action figures because I grew up poor, but I grew up with all of your voices. I am even trying too! No demo or anything, just doing funny voices just cause. Thank so so much for everything.
