It's actually terrible. Sher Khan is supposed to represent the powerful and untouchable British aristocracy in India, his voice in the original cartoon reflects this. Idris voice is one of a poor and petty criminal that is afraid of the law, not above it. It was an awful choice. Benedict Cumberbatch putting on a bit more posh than usual would have done it.

The wolf mother played by Lupita Nyong is maybe the most underappreciated role in this movie. She is great and brining up a lot of emotions. Very much like Tarzan´s mom in the Disneys Tarzan movie. Much needed from the Animated version. This adaptation is wonderful. They take more things from the books and still holds true to the spirit of the Disney version. A great movie. The only thing that might ruin it to you is if you don´t like some of the actors and can´t see past that. I did´t think I whould like Bill Murry as Baloo but he come trought. Great Baloo. He and Bagherra is still that awesome couple looking out ofr Mowgli.

I mean if you think about it, that just makes the performance more realistic. Mowgli had never even heard the word music before he met Baloo, so of course he isn't gonna have some mad pipes going into it for the first time lmao. That was his first time ever singing, as a character.

The voice celebrities of Scuttle, Flounder and Sebastian from The Little Mermaid live action movie that came out earlier this year nailed it JUST AS good as all these actors nailed their roles in The Jungle Book. Ben Kingsley and Bill Murray were my favorite voiceover actors and Scarlett Johansson and Awkwafina were no different from how they nailed it as Scuttle and Kaa. The Jungle Book will always be my favorite of all these Disney animated films to be remade into live action films.

Even tho I’m not the bigger fan of this remake, this casting is pretty spot on! 🤩 For example: Idris Elba showcases Shere Khan’s threatening and menacing nature brilliantly! Ben Kingsley showcases Bagheera’s grouchy, yet wise and caring side wonderfully. Bill Murray showcases Baloo’s lazy, care-free, but loveable charisma fantastically! Plus, his rendition of Bare Necessities is pretty killer! Etcccccccccc!

saw this a few days ago and almost every scene in the movie brought tears to my eyes because of how well It was done. They stayed very true to the book and the animated version, everyone did such a good job portraying their characters that I didn't once see them as CGI. Ferdifer The whole film has little comedic effect. It's a more modern serious version of the original. Sure, it has some humorous moments with Baloo, but this film is meant to be a lot more serious. That's the main reason I'm fine with Kaa being played by a woman.

They changed it because orangutans are not native to the location of which this movie takes place, but Gigantopithicus fossils were found in that region so it is actually more accurate
