Anyone else here because of Engineering Research Papers? Would definitely recommend buying meters from this company because they clearly know what they are doing and can explain it so easily.

Vortex tipli sərfölçənlərin əsas iş prinsipi tezlik ölçmə metoduna əsaslanır. Maye sərfölçənə daxil olduqda metal sahəyə dəyir və burulma effekti yaradır. Bu burulğanlar sensorun sola və sağa hərəkət edərək tezlik yaranmasına səbəb olur. Tezlik axın sürəti ilə mütənasibdir.

Thanks for the video. It must have been the outcome with long years of experience to have such a design, but I wonder why in most of the sensors, main body of sensor for the computations is far from the sensing body. I would appreciate any thoughts :)
@endresshauser3 жыл бұрын
Dear Hüseyin Felek, thank you for your comment. You are right, the measurement of the vortices should take place at the bluff body itself or directly downstream, which is the case in our products guaranteeing optimum performance.

The coop where I live decided to eliminate the thermostatic disks from our Dunham Bush steam traps and instead replace them with orifice plates. We have experienced higher annual steam costs after these replacements. I am an HVAC operating Engineer and have explained to the coop Board of replacement this error but it has fallen on deaf ears. Is there any source available to reinforce my opinion on the mistaken use of orifice plates in our steam traps?
@endresshauserАй бұрын
We have the following sources about steam and flowmeters dedicated to corresponding applications, but not specifically on orifice plates. Hopefully, the information helps you nonetheless: eh.digital/3Xm8UdQ eh.digital/3XaR8u4 eh.digital/4dRnHUU

Do vortex flowmeters required 100% filled fluid in case of liquid flow measurement?
@endresshauser3 жыл бұрын
You are correct, vortex flowmeters require a fully filled pipe and a fully developed flow profile in order to measure. Please check the section Installation in the devices’ Technical Information, available on our website eh.digital/38OsR4E

What is the main reasons of malfunctioning of sensor
@endresshauser Жыл бұрын
The system is tested under severe conditions such as water hammering and overspeeding. From our experience, these out-of-specification events may result in a malfunction of the flowmeter in some cases despite the tests. In the case of difficult processes in your plant, we recommend to contact your point of sales for consultations regarding selection, sizing and installation www.endress.com/en/contact

Can you install a bypass line around the flow meter?
@endresshauser6 жыл бұрын
Yes, a bypass line with block valves around the flowmeter can be installed. This is even recommended (depending on the process) in case the flowmeter has to be dismounted from time to time for maintenance purposes.

Vortices have cylindrical form?
@endresshauser6 жыл бұрын
As you can see in the movie as from time 1:43 the vortices are cylindrical over the whole diameter of the tube. This has to do with the barrier/bluff body in the flow tube which has a rectangular shape and creates the vortices along its edge.

Working principle based on ideal condition from what I get from this video. What are the ideal conditions. Constant flow? Clean flow? Laminar flow? etc etc. In real world application ideal conditions don't seem to exist mainly after several years in service. Can you explain when these meters do not read steam flow accurately. Does bend in the line changes flow reading? Does the meters has to be placed in straight run pipe? For me this video was not helpful at all.
@endresshauser Жыл бұрын
Our Vortex flowmeters are designed for real life process conditions and have proven themselves in several hundred thousand applications in various industries for years. They can be used to measure the flow of liquids, gases and steam in extreme applications like hydrogen gas, liquid mercury, liquid bitumen and other applications where other measuring principles fail. A certain minimum flow rate is required for the vortices to form. In cases where the flow velocity is too low, this problem can be circumvented by installing a flowmeter with a reduced cross-section. This consequently increases the flow velocity and does not have any affect on the measuring accuracy. The inlet requirements can be found in the technical documentation for the device.
