I maintain my theory on the Votann (at least the ones not evolving from Fanes), that they are Men of Stone build upon and upgraded over time until they became something else entirely. So the first Ancestors where probably Men of Stone that led their Kin cohorts into the core (possibly fleeing the Men of Iron) and there became the Ancestor Cores. Maybe being cut off from their (re)production facilities, they had to be modified into their current form to keep them alive.

The Fane of a given hold can become self aware after eons of acting as the direct link between the Votann and the Grimnir. In the codex this is referred as a fane becoming a Votann. One major league actually follows such a fane made Votann.

Honestly, the Votann lore has enough potential and depth to actually be its own thing even outside of Warhammer 40K. However, I'm still glad it's part of the WH40K verse anyway. Also, Rock & Stone to all closet DRG fans watching this video, if there are any. (I swear, some of the design choices are so similar, it's uncanny.)

Well I believe that many imperium ships are not able to be made as before! Even if the kins Technology is an older design then the question would be asked by many why/where/what/how it’s a giveaway! Though it does give a real chance for the imperium to deal with the Nids

The way the ships of the Kin travel is kind of hilarious because while they're slower on average, they're far more deliberate and consistent, which is probably a bit of a "pants to be darkened" moment for anyone that pisses them off. These ships mount weapons the Imperium would consider lost to time, with likely very strong defenses. Like the rest of the Kin, they might not be the most numerous, but they either give it their all or not at all.

The STC's could be complete, but absolutely buried and fragmented under the weight of all their duplicated data - perhaps that is one of the reasons that the Votann take so long to give answers that the orginal STC's could have spit out an answer for in seconds.

The primary reason that the leagues are not often discussed amongst Imperial records is that most of the leagues are different enough from one another that they have been identified as entirely different species and abhuman colonies by the Imperium. The book confirms that the town know them as the demiurge for example. And the appearance of the dominant cloneskein in that league had xenos biologists classify them as a minor xenos race. Well the refugees on necromunda are the squats classified as abhumans. Its only recently that the leagues have been making roads into far farspace and encountering the imperium on Mass.

Every faction (barring the Tyranids) has a tragedy, the thing that stops them from being their best self. I was wondering what the Votann's was. And now you've laid it out. The tragedy of the Votann is that despite the fact they have the power, resources, tech, and ability to save the Imperium and by extent the galaxy, there is no way they will be accepted and they will soon find themselves set up on by the very people they set out to save.

Imperium met the "squats" during the Great Crusade. This was probably this one League that fell to the Nids. They couldn't beat them then so I don't belive they could pull it in the modern day against all the Leagues. It doesn't help that Imperium isn't prepared to navigate thr galactic core...

So basically the leagues areggs are the ancestors of the dark age of technology humans except they went into the galactic core and they still have all of their ST c's full and complete yes some of them are breaking down but they seem to be working quite well. So, now can you imagine What would happen if the Mechanicus1 or the dark Mechanicum found out that these freaking space Bomburs were sitting on hordes of STC technology And I'm not talking just a few I'm talking like almost complete sets? The shit would hit the fan and then if treason found out about it! Lol that would just be for the giggles! But my thing is if humanity could get his hands on some of these ST c's like some of the shit we had back then we can literally end gay off in like 2 days so so interesting to see what these little dudes are gonna bring to the table
