I love your videos and their great production value but I've noticed that on multiple scooter reviews recently some basic info was missing, that I wish was in. This review mentions that it's lighter than others but doesn't say how much it weighs, which is pretty important. I can understand not wanting to quote a price and put sellers that are more expensive in a weird position, but at least a range of prices would be good to add, too (e.g. "we've seen it sold online for $1,400 to $1,800" would make a huge difference). The weight shouldn't be controversial either, or up for debate. Just my 2 cents.
@AlienRides3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback, weight is definitely a nice piece of information to include, I'll see if we can do that in the future!

@@NatesEscape Good job entirely missing the point. This is not about this specific scooter, but about multiple videos all having this problem. I could see how you wouldn't recognize constructive feedback that was well-received by the author of this video when all you could manage was a sarcastic comment. Best of luck with life, it'll be a challenge with such poor reading comprehension skills.

Really great review, as usual. Thanks. 0:26 haha, I adjusted my brakes so that the pads and rotors were fully aligned ( front one was mis-aligned out of the factory with only the back edge of the pad making contact with the rotor.) Tested it going down my driveway and went straight over the bars fist time I applied front brake! They are surprisingly grunty little buggers for mechanical brakes. BUT! I really wish that Vsett had integrated the front indicators into the brake lever brackets and the rear ones into the back of the foot rest. Would be way more visible to other traffic in those positions.

Yup, definitely gotta watch out for those brakes. Agree about the turn signals. Ride safe! 👽🖖

Love your videos! I just came back from a trip to Portland, Oregon. I live in Northern NJ and we drive or use public Trans. I have never been on an electric scooter until my trip. I rented the Lime scooter everyday to make it up and down those Portland hills because I didn't rent a car. I had fun but I wobbled alot. I had the experience of getting on the scooter at 6:30am one morning going downhill towards downtime and almost ending my life after hitting a couple of rough dips in the road. I wear glasses plus I am 45 so hitting the concrete isn't ideal. I jumped off the scooter in a panic and bruised myself up a bit. I had a major fun on the scooter but I definitely would need more practice at a much lower speed to get the hang of things, and a helmet! This Vsett 9+ looks awesome but 32 mph would have my soul leave my body. And I'm sure we all know speed is exhilarating yet isn't always practical for folks like myself. Overall, I am still interested in getting a scooter.. Next I'll try to Veo scooters we have in NJ now to see how I like the commute in my area. Fingers crossed 🤞

Ah yeah, also to be fair the line scooters are not the safest, usually in poor maintenance with small tires. Practicing some on flat ground is also a good idea, but I’m sure you would be great at it in no time.

I just pulled the trigger on a Vsett 9+ due in no small part to your excellent reviews of the Vsett line. One controversy I came across whilst researching this and other dual-drive scooters was, is there a significant increase in range using rear-wheel-drive only? I know the answer seems obvious on one level but I would really like to see the question answered formally by an expert. The argument against increased range is that the unpowered motor offers significant resistance to motion, presumably due to cogging.
@AlienRides2 жыл бұрын
Also things are more efficient when they are running at lower amps generally. I don't have hard data, but honestly it doesn't really matter. We just recommend dual motor to keep the motor wear and controller draw the same. 👽🖖

@bencolley68832 жыл бұрын
I’ve had one for around a month, I get around 15 miles from mine after a full charge, no matrrr how much I use the dual motor, the single motor mode is kinda pointless tho if you ask me, its only useful on flat ground in good weather it’s not powerful enough once you’ve took it down to less than 50v for it to be any good in single motor mode it’s on par with an AovoPro, it has been very windy and wet tho so no doubt that’s affecting the range and performance.. the top speed on single motor is around 22mph unless you use dual to get up to speed, then the slightest bit of wind or rough terrain and your speed is gone, from my experience the range doesn’t change much with dual and single motor use, I’ve tried to be economical with it and I’ve just give it full beans, doesn’t change much, so you are probably better off using dual most of the time unless your in a busy area then the single motor mode is useful as you don’t really need all that power to cruise at 15/20mph on the canal or whatever, my aovo cost me £240, this I paid £1000 for it, i live in a hilly area so the dual motor is a godsend, but as said once you’ve dropped below 48/50v the performance greatly depreciates.. I did 24 miles on the first charge and that took it right down to 41v which you don’t really want to do all that often.. so you may get 20 miles if your not too bothered about the decrease in power but for me I need all the power I can get, The suspension works, much more comfortable for the roads, the lights are crap so I’ve added a load of bike lights myself to the front and wear them on my bag too to be more visible, overall it’s decent but a month in and it could be better, I expected more for my 1k but I’m still quite pleased with it, deffo be worth grabbing an extra charger as the 10hour charge time is very long…

I managed 21 miles in 1st gear the whole time the other day and it would have gone further but I got a flat, it was low tho so maybe 25 miles if I was lucky, in 2nd your talking 15 miles and 3rd your getting like 10 miles in my experience after 2 month over winter in cold wet and windy weather, so real world uk use 🤣 but you probably would get a good 30 miles just cruising in 1st with no hills and no wind on good road surface, it would take you like 3 hours but i think it would be doable.. just where I live there’s lots of hills

Best scooter for those who like to change flat tires every 100km. One local youtuber had 4 flats in week on Vsett 9+. My local distributor of Vsetts aknowleged , that people are returning Vsett 9+ very often, because of flat tires on such small wheels accure every second ride. 8.5 Inch is tire for Xiaomi 365 with max speed od 25km/h. Not for a scooter with top speed 53km/h. As distibutor, by selling those you will have a lot of headache in the future.

Unless you are strapped for cash, definitely get the 10+R. The concept of an entry level scooter is an unnecessary and costly one. It is more of a marketing ploy for product diversification than anything else. The basic skill required to ride a scooter is required by all scooters. Buy the top end model, knock everything down to their lowest settings and just take it very easy at first. The learning curve is very steep and you will soon crave the 10+R if not on your very first steep hill. The only real skill requirement for the more powerful scooters is your ability to control the throttle and more so when letting off the throttle or , feathering. Also, if you want the option to learn riding on singletrack, you’ll need a minimum of dual 1000W motors with dual swing arm suspension. However, singletrack is where you will also need to learn a lot more riding skills than is required for commuting.

We have the VSETT9+ at home and it has been a major disappointment. The amount of times we have gotten flats can be counted on one hand… EVERY MONTH! Tried every kind of tire option. Even changing out the wheels is a horrendous process that was clearly not tested properly. Unless you are skilled with repairs of this type you are out of luck because you will not be able to change it. I wish there was a way to return this thing or swap it out. At this point it is nearly unusable because you can pretty much guarantee you will get stranded somewhere. Or maybe we just got a bad one out of the batch…

It's a common problem and there’s a fix for it.

If you can’t climb steep hills then it’s not suitable for many places. And it couldn’t. So it’s not the best scooter for my city. Maybe vsett10+ , but it’s expensive.

mm.. you should stop at STOP sign, for scooter road rules matter too
@AlienRides3 жыл бұрын
Depends on wheee you live, in a few cities stop signs as yield is legal. It’s safer as you’re not in the intersection for as long. 👽🖖

The motors look the same as the one Inokim uses. Probably from the same factory 🏭. 🏭

Good eyes, many scooter manufacturers are using the same motor suppliers these days.

I own the Vsett 9+ and I have to disagree that it is the best commuter. This video should be titled, "Is the Vsett 9+ The BEST Commuter Electric Scooter?" because that would make you more trustworthy. Try using it daily in variable weather conditions and get back to me.

That is true indeed, always good to test scooters in varying conditions. Unfortunately I'm blessed with near perfect weather year round in the bay area. 👽🖖

I was amazing until i got my first flat at 200 miles and every 50 miles (or less) since then. The the replacement inner tubes are horrible and impossible to put on properly. Don't buy unless you are a handy man and can fix your own flats. Total disappointment and a waste of money.

Hydraulics are better for sure, but these aren't too bad when paired with electronic braking. 👽🖖
