I'm very surprised that Amalee wasn't in the best music category. Sure she had over a decade worth of living off her singing and VA while not being a vtuber so she might be discounted for that but so did Mori. I think for the best agency category there was three no brainers but the fourth spot was a toss up between several established vtuber companies. I'd say limit that category to the three big ones and move Idol down to the rising stars.

However, if there was ever a 4th dark horse contender among the popular ones in the west, I'd put Phase on that list too.

Consider this, Phase were initially nominated for Best Org but then sponsored a few categories to take Idol's place in Rising Star. Makes perfect sense considering that the main award would inevitably be a Hololive win through sheer clout, so then Phase would do the same to this category. Can nobody else see the conflict of interest? How a nominee can sponsor the same event in which they're up for an award?

Also, in the game awards, sony, valve, epic, rockstar have been advisors and their games were nominated, so this is not an out-of-the-ordinary practice. Now for the question if it's fair. Should of made it an EN only thing and maybe even separated corporate and indie...or just made it an indie and small company vtuber event only as a vehicle to raise the profiles of vtubers in that space.

Much easier to make it all EN based since that’s most of the audience that’s voting anyway. I’ve seen an indie vtuber award thing done before around a year ago which I heard went okay. Phase Connect is NOT the "Best Rising Vtuber Org", because they arent rising, they are already huge. They have more members and subs than the 3 other nominees in that category COMBINED. It's really unfair to the other nominees in that category because its david vs goliath. Phase Connect should've been in "Best Vtuber Org" and had 5 nominees. "Rising Org" should've been limited to 1-2 generation/10 vtubers and/or be under 2 years old. Phase Connect has 23 members and is nearly 3 years old now, they arent rising, they already rose.

Honestly I believe this award should be an EN exclusive, because EN, JP and ID in general all have their own unique and different vibes in their streams compared to the other language group, so combining them together for a poll would only show which language fandom make the majority Like for example, when I feel like listening to a zatsu, I prefer listening to an ID vtuber over the other language groups, because ID vtubers usually got that close friend vibe when they're talking that I just can't get from an EN or JP vtuber. EN is my go to when I feel like listening to gameplay. People like Shinri for example is a personal favorite of mine since with him, I can hear the gameplay noises and him actually discussing his thoughts about the game's lore instead of rambling about other stuff. People like him feels so rare in the ID or JP vtubing scene, but I feel like they're everywhere within the EN landscape And I am not ashamed to say that JP vtubers got the best ASMRs. There's just something about the JP language that feels very comforting as ASMR compared to EN or ID, like... it just pull you into the bed you know? So yeah, I mean things like this. If we mix all of them up, I'll definitely pick Risu for the zatsu category, Shinri for gaming and Fubuki for ASMR. But I feel like it's not fair for the other language groups too due to that language leaning bias I got, like... Altare is actually a pretty fun guy to listen to during zatsu, but maybe it's due to different culture and by extension vibe with the IDs, I feel like I need a separate category to put him in, and I could say the same about Iofi when she does ASMR or Towa when it comes to gaming, I need a different set of category for these other 'honorable mention' vtubers

I do find it unfortunate that we didnt have a large scale vtuber awards before this year. I wouldve loved to see holo myth dominate when they were in their first/second years xD. Especially Amelia Watson deserved an award for her grind when she started out, she was a big trendsetter and innovator in my opinion.

This one was hard, I would have loved to vote for KFP as most dedicated fanbase since they really stand by Kiara. For me it was a toss up between KFP and Hen-Tai gumi, but neither was on the list so I went with Chumbuds. For music I chose Susei only for the 1st take of Stellar Stellar, but looking back at what I have listened most this year it's Mori. Looking at the amazing versatility and span of genres she's covered Mori truly is in a league of her own.

These awards are cute and all but let's be honest. Most of the people voting are Filian viewers (absolutely nothing against her since I am one of her viewers and I enjoy her very much) and Filian's vtuber friends viewers. That will heavily skew the results in favor mostly of indies and twitch streamers. Furthermore the inclusion of the Big Boys Holo & Niji will further enrage the rabid fans of the twitch indies and Vshojo. Quite a lot of their fanbases are toxic af and for some reason seem to have huge beef with the big ones, specifically Holo. These are not "THE" Vtuber Awards, these are "participation trophy circle jerk of a group of friends". In theory Holo & Niji should sweep every category easily. In reality... yea, we all know how this will end. It will end like "OMG, I told you Ironmouse is the greatest vtuber ever, look - proof! - she beat the great Pekora!". Which is like me winning an award for the fastest man in the world while Usain Bolt didn't even know I was competing. If the actual vast majority of Pekora fanbase who are obviously from Japan knew about it, do you think anyone stands a chance? Or all the Japanese vtuber fans? We're talking about millions, tens of millions here, even Mousey can't compete with that. Again, I have nothing against any of the nominated vtubers, I watch most if not all of them and they have brought me incredible entertainment and joy throughout the years. However, I strongly believe that these "awards" were unnecessary and will serve only for a fuel for the fire between different fanbases, specifically against the big agencies.

All these nominations are submitted by fans. Pekora got the nomination because many people nominated her. She actually has a big chance of winning. This award leans on EN side, sure, but i dont think Filian's friends gonna win all the category. If the viewers/voters are Filian watchers, then the nomination would be all Filian friends. The fact that people nominate Fuwamoco, Bijou, Kuzuha and Salome proved that votes come from the whole community, not just Filian's.

This is exactly the point of there being an obligation to separate the awards in the West (EN) and East (JP/ID/KR/CH) next year... If the "bubbles" of the Asian fandom of nijisanji and especially hololive start to give importance to the award, there is a risk of seeing names like Pekora or Gura in all categories, simply because they have a huge fan base, "ruining" the meaning of the award. Another point is about publicity, I don't know if Filian is doing everything alone, but literally no vtuber who broadcasts only on KZbin knew about this award, next year she will have to increase publicity on as many platforms as possible and it is not restricted to who follows vtubers on Twitch and X(Twitter).

My only complaints are that there's an obvious recency bias in some categories that should have been weeded out. Why is Matara Kan in "Best Just Chatting / Zatsu Vtuber" and Kuro Kurenai in "Funniest Vtuber"? They've literally only existed for 45 and 60 days respectively. It's way to short of a time to even be put into those categories. Even though it would mean they'd probably lose out on wining since they're in an easier category right now, Phase Connect and Idol should have switched places in their categories. With Phase competing for "Best Vtuber Org" and Idol competing for "Rising Vtuber Org". and finally "Best Concert Event" should have had another entry. No "Our Bright Parade"? No "Splash Party"? Come on! The JP concerts were leagues larger than "Connect The World".

Codeness was a good example: he was a Japanese indie Vtuber who can speak Japanese and English very well and used both often. He barely lasted half of 2022 before he got depressed and angry he never got any views, leading to his graduation. It was sad as he’s good people but I know the exact reason nobody watched him except me: all he ever streamed were Apex Legends and Valorant and both those games fucking suck ass. Other than collabing with my mutual, KP-Chan where he was interviewed about who he was and what he did, he was very adverse to streaming anything good so people never gave him the time of day. I did as I like him but it was hard to enjoy as his streams were boring as shit.

Feels like the Dedicated Fan base has both positive and negative connotations, Gura is barely active but you still see people with 36+ month memberships complaining about that fact, they don't stop their membership and eat out of her hands when she actually does stream, so I would determine that as dedicated, with their dedication to her also leading to negativity. If we were to **only** consider positive dedication, then there are so many that qualify above Kindred and Chumbuds. To name a bunch: KFP, Nousagis, Takodachis, Dragoons, Precious Family or even fans of Millie's Hat.

Now if you look from an EN viewers perspective then sure Pippa is the one but if you look from the ID viewers + hololive only watchers perspective then Kobo is the right one. See this is one of the faults of these kinds of awards, it will boil down to who has the largest fanbase. They Need to make these kinds of awards purely regional not Globally. Minecraft is one of those ones, I don't watch single player but if someone is playing multiplayer its great as background noise like a Zatsu with stuff going on. I think Chumbuds especially have the problem of Gura might still be the Queen of KZbin Subs when it comes to Vtubing, and when you have the most fans it makes sense that the 'fake fans' would be the loudest.

2 or 3 is a number that only apply for those who cares about numbers, which easily goes to Tenma and Pippa for being the most recognizable ones, but in general the numbers goes higher like for me I genuinely love watching a lot more of Airi, Shiina, Uruka and Erina, they are fun and have their own uniqueness when comes to streaming and what they like to stream, but sadly their low viewership cause that not many people notice how great they are, specially for Uruka that always deliver with her violin skills

Honestly, the only real issue I have with these awards is that they went with 4 nominees instead of 5 for most of the categories which would have been more of an industry standard when it comes to awards. Unless you're going for a 50/50 scenario it's almost always better to have an odd number of options as it will invariably filter to the winner that much more clearly.

Nerissa, Shiori and Fuwamoco dont have fandoms as big as Gura, Vox and Shoto. You could argue that they have bigger fanbase than Numi but those 3 are fanatics. Those 3 are insanely dedicated. Vox's fans are basically kpop fans, Gura didnt stream for months and she still came back with 10k+ viewers, Shoto is the biggest Twitch male vtuber.

The award show can't be perfect for everyone and thats clear as long as you don't just put every Vtuber as a choice in every category which would just be stupid. For every category there will be other vtuber that people would have wanted to get a place in there but not everyone can be in it. So of course people will complain however I will say it's still a pretty great event even if I also disagree with quite a lot of choices. The most weird one is definetely that they didn't switch Phase Connect and Idol because I feel like both fit way more in the other category and Idol maybe would have had a solid chance to win while Phase connect could at least compete with Hololive/Nijisanji/Vshojo. That is the only one where I really will say it is imo completely unreasonable

Everyone chooses who gets nominated. You used to be able to nominate one name for each category and then they took the 4 most suggested vtubers/ideas and put them against each other. So sure it does get more difficult for smaller vtubers to win, but then they'd have to be in the rising start or small vtuber category. But it's not like it's rigger by the vtuber awards themselves. But it does boil down to a popularity contest

I love the VShojo girls and Phase girls, but... Hololive is pretty much definitively the best org. I'm not biased nor delusional about this. Holo has so many talents. Over 83, collectively with over 80 million followers. Basically all of the most followed vtubers are Hololive. They also tend to stick by their talents and treat them very good. For example... Koseki Bijou (super adorable), just started with the Advent generation 3 months ago and already 492k subs. Pippa Pipkin (who I love btw) was Phase Connect 1st gen in Jun 2021, 286k subs. And she's Phase's most successful talent. Pippa's even talked about this on stream. She applied for Hololive many times. If you get in at Holo you're going to be very successful, that's basically guaranteed. And everyone knows it. Ironmouse is the most followed in VShojo at 1.7m. Gura has 4.4m. VShojo collectively has 3.7m followers total. Holo has 12 talents with more than 1.7m followers, 38 with over 1 million, and a ton that are close. I love VShojo and everyone in it but it's not even close. VShojo has some very successful talents with big followings, but VShojo is still pretty small. I nominated them for Rising Vtuber Org and I think it's the one they should win, but alas they didn't get the nomination in that category. In the best category though it's hands down Hololive. As for rising, yeah of course it's Phase Connect. They have like 17 girls and more are debuting soon. They have really low sub counts but a lot of the girls are very entertaining. Hopefully they do see more success.

The real actual problem is simply that the corpos are included, which do not care about those awards at all. So its "pearls before the swine" to waste those nominations on them in the first place. ! Edit.: Because i see people completely not understanding the point im making here. How does it look like if hypothetically corpos win every category they are included in - the corpos that dont recognize those prices and that will probably stay silent about them. I understand that this is done to boost viewer and participation numbers, but it might end up as a major point of controversy, when the awards get literally wasted on corpos/talents that dont care about it. Doesnt that devalue the whole premise of this show? /End ! And besides that its just the average glorified popularity poll. I think it would have been nice to split it between community awards and a jury system, where they would try to include some more unknown people. Some people said corpos should be left out but people were mad when streamer award didnt nominate Hololive vtubers. Some people said this is rigged but the nominees were submitted by fans. Some people said Filian's friends (vshojo and indie) would win all categories. If thats the case, then the nominees would be all Vshojo and indie. The fact that corpo vtubers are there is proof that these are not all by Filian's watchers since its all fan-nominated. Some people said this should be EN only but then other people would claim this as bias. Other communities like music, movies, games, anime etc already have their own award shows. It was already biased from the beginning. lol. Because if the organizers did present all the fans in the VTuber community then names like Okayu, Korone, Aqua, Koyori, Miko and 35P should have been nominated. Especially Koyori, Miko and her fanbase 35P. It is undeniable that Koyori is currently the most hard working VTuber. Even though she has to practice vocals, record songs, practice choreography, host big events in Japan, work for sponsors, but she still streams every day without any breaks. And as for Miko herself, she is a prodigy. Her entertainment skills are on par with Pekora. Her 35P fanbase is also very dedicated and loyal. The combination of Miko and 35P in Soul Calibur 6 and GTA is one of the best in the VTuber industry. And both of them are always on the list of the most watched streamers on this planet and both of them have been at number 1. So there should be no need for awards like this. Or if the people still insist on having them then just separate the Western and JP VTuber.
