The Wacky GAMECUBE KEYBOARD Controller!

This is the ASCII Keyboard Controller for GameCube. This wacky device was created for one game (Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II) and is arguably the weirdest GameCube controller there is. (It's definitely the wackiest in my GameCube controller collection.)
In this video, we'll examine the GameCube keyboard controller's original packaging, perform an unboxing, put it through a short play-test, and deliver a review with some final thoughts.

There's actually one other way to get keyboard input on the GameCube! Madcatz made a "Universal Sharkboard" keyboard that worked with PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, and PC. It was a PS/2 keyboard, with an adapter that converted it to either GameCube or USB (which you'd use on the PS2, or PC.) A second included adapter fit in the Xbox memory card slot, and gave you a USB port. It was essentially identical to the one that Microsoft used to send out, for Phantasy Star Online players, allowing you to use a USB keyboard on that system.

I am Emulating Atari 800 with Retro Arch and have some Atari 5200 conversions on it that I can't load because I need a button number 1 or 2. I wonder if this would work for typing and numbers.

What do the keys do when you press them in a normal game? Do they just map to random buttons/stick inputs?

Good question. I'd imagine it would work with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate through the GameCube controller adapter that people will be using for that game, but I won't know until the game is out.
