Fun fact: the reason most Bart Simpson merch has Bart wearing a blue shirt is because when the show was still in planning, FOX took the most complete character sheets to give to companies so they could make merchandise off of him. These character sheets they sent out showed Bart with a blue shirt. Even the arcade game had him wearing blue, but he wears red in the intro when he jumps out of the school on his skateboard

Early Simpsons merchandise was weird. Supposedly, the characters had the wrong colored shirts on official merchandising to combat the bootleggers. If they were wearing show accurate attire, they were fakes. And I've totally seen some kid wear that bootlegged Bart/TMNT shirt once when I was a kid and being disappointed not being able to find it.

I think you're confused about what a bootleg is. Every item you bought was essentially parody merchandise, much of which is legal. They are all "in on the joke". True "bootleg" Simpsons merch is usually from the 90s from Chinatown or flea markets.

I had the shirt shown at 1:30 when I was about 5-6 (in the very early 90s, just as The Simpsons was starting its rise as a media juggernaut, and just as kids my age were becoming aware of it.) Only I THINK mine didn't have the 'Underachiever' plaque or the speech bubble - all it said was 'Bart Simpson' (or maybe 'The Simpsons', memory is fuzzy) and had Bart with his slingshot underneath. I want to say his shirt was red, too, but again, that may be my memory playing tricks on me - it HAS been almost 30 years. I think I got it off a street vendor, so probably not legit, but I heard the original is valuable as a vintage collectable, so a part of me can't help but think 'holy cow that old shirt would be worth money right now if it hadn't been given away.'

I reccomend the anime Clannad. Its my favorite anime of all time, and even got my friend into anime. I highly reccomend it. Season 2 seems to be praised the most, so if you dont like season 1 all too much, the theres a decent chance season 2 might impress you. Another one I'd reccomend is Fullmetal Alchemist. People seem to like the reboot Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood more, since it's stays faithful to the manga, but I've seen both the original 2003 series, and the 2009 reboot, and I loved both of them. But to be safe, go with brotherhood, and then watch the original if you feel like it.
