I too know how you feel about crafting something’s seeing it being used , as a retired yacht builder of 32 yrs ,and seeing a large vessel that you built or had helped build float by you get a feel of accomplishment, pride , and knowing you gave it your best and someone is enjoying it , handcrafting is a lost art these days ,it’s the special touches those little things that make it your style ,part of your soul that goes into each rod , the only way it could get better is if each fisherman could send you a picture of the fish they caught with one of your rods and a smile in every photo . I’m currently restoring a bamboo rod I picked up at a flea market, would like to see a video of your rods being fished all work and no play makes for a long day !👍

For its length, this is one of the most well produced and inspiring videos I have seen for building bamboo rods.

I taught with a now retired elementary art teacher who builds bamboo fly rods. He's completely old school making the ferrules and the guide by hand. Beautiful products and understandably why they are so expensive. It's been over twenty years since I spoke with him and at that time the rods were well over 1000 U.S. dollars each. The hours of work into these is amazing. I just broke my fiberglass flyrod that I build forty years ago (out of college) and am now looking to buy a bamboo fly rod to use.

Oh mein Gott! Mfg Raphael 😉🎣

Wish I could have one of these Bamboo rods. It is something rare to find in South Africa and very expensive once you find one 😢 I will visit Denver l, Colorado, end June 2023. Will see if I can go an borrow and fish with one of these beautiful rods.
