Magic clips are like the old reliables. They cut good on any hair texture, they don't get hot, not too loud, easy on the hands and the crunch blade comes in clutch. I don't see them going anywhere. I actually appreciate that Wahl doesn't release a new clipper every 6 months, it's unnecessary and low key greedy.

You right…. Gives you something to think about, but the seniors need at least an hour and a half upgrade and the seniors would be great for years to come. Although we are not talking about seniors it just came to mind.

Any clipper will be relevant as long as you use it and find value from it. Of course there have been clippers that have improved greatly in terms of run time, low noise etc. But if it works for you then it works

I got a pair of Caliber .50 Cal Cordless and they were (to my surprise) very affordable with a 5 Hr charge. I love it. It’s close to the Babyliss Gold Clipper and Wahl Magic Clip in my mind.

I reinvented my magic clips with a new 3200 mah battery and the jrl blade with deep tooth cutter. And in my opinion it’s stronger and blends flawlessly and effortlessly. I can finish a whole haircut with them in 15 minutes. I use em as my speed clippers when I see I’m pushing time.

Im 100% with WHAL is like TOYOTA they are reliable they never say no just work they need to innovate for shore not just stick with the OG line they should do both just my honest opinion i been cutting since 99 I consider my self a og barber 💈 im a lil old school i start with the gray silver Senior and a Andis T liner 😂 and got babyliss clippers but im still Rocking my 5star senior and cordless Andis now because of ur videos goin to pull the plug 🔌 with Gamma+ Stylecraft to check them out keep the good work FL in the 🏠

Magic clips are very reliable , the problem I have with them are the motor tends to smoke . The lever also begins to smoke . There are videos out on that issue.

Reggie keep doing ya thang brotha I myself am a wahl fan and all I do is just remove motors and blades on all the wahl releases they have and make your own 🔥 wahl clippers......example new gold magic clip gold lever and switch plus new blades in my 100 year 1919 seniors nothing on the planet messing with them.

Wahl Magic Clips still has the pluggable batterey thats easily replaced by customer. None of the new competitor brands models have this. The battery is a weak link. The Magic Clip stagger tooth blade is sold in the U.S. Gamma+ sells their stagger tooth blade only over seas, but for how long before selling it in the U.S.? Is there a patent time limit Wahl has on the stagger tooth blade design before Style Craft/Gamma+ can sell stagger tooth cutting blade in U.S.?

Great video!! Just know Wahl probably has something tricky up their sleeves. They can literally, I mean literally buy Gama/Stylecraft & still have billions left in the bank… They’ve bought other clipper companies before. Insider info I was privileged to years ago. Andis is the company that should be really worried. Oster is pretty much gone!!

I still use my Magic Clip and Cordless Senior, both original. I put the balding blade on a pair of MC as my balder and it works effortlessly. I put Bossio's battery in my MC and they chop. Probably wont buy anything different anytime soon.

I support the newer companies like gamma/stylecraft and babyliss cause they actually try to improve there clippers and give people options wahl n andis jus release the same clippers that have no real improvements jus different colors

If it ain't broke don't fix it. It annoys the hell out of me when companies come out with new products just to say they came out with a new product (or to take your money). Wahl built their reputation on having a solid reliable product, let them keep it that way.

Wahl clippers last a longtime some people who had the alpha clipper said it stopped working after a few months. I need to see how long the rebel lasts and does it have longevity before I buy it.

I can tell you my stylecraft Ergo's just stopped working at 2 years 8 months, and my Gamma Boosted's (same company) suddenly stopped working after 1 year 10 months. Both with moderate use. I've had my magic clips and my Wahl 100 year seniors since 2019 and they haven't given me a single problem. However, I took a chance and purchased the rebel WITH a 3 year insurance coverage (only $18). I'm giving stylecraft one more chance but you can see already I don't trust their quality.

My alpha burnt out.. and had three spring replacement.. 🤦🏽‍♂️ sometimes changes ain’t good and if it work good upgrade to make it greater and out class others. Andis trying but the new clipper ain’t hitting.. the trimmer is straight because I think there t blade are the best. Smooth on the skin and still creates sharp lines

I just bought a brand new magic clip on Amazon and used for the first time. My son complained that the blade was getting too hot for his skin and I felt it and it was a little hot. Is this normal or do you think something is wrong with my machine?

I don't know about saying Wahl CAN'T make a better clipper than the Senior, but since it's their top of the line clipper they would have to first improve the Senior before improving the rest of their lineup underneath it, or create a brand new model that they could position above the Senior. The question is what would people want from a Wahl clipper that they aren't getting already. I only wish they would try and work on a cordless magnetic motor clipper. That's what I was hoping they would have done with the Legend. Otherwise, I'm good with my Senior, Anniversary, and Legend clippers to do everything I need on a daily basis.

I don’t think they can make a better clipper than the senior. Why? Because the senior it self has checked every box for everyone. It does everything holds up for years. That’s why these companies barely finally catching up and copying the senior. In order for wahl to make something better is not an easy task and they will be in direct competition to their best clipper that everyone loves. It will compared to the senior in every way and people just complaining on longer run time, charging dock. Etc. People will always choose wahl because they know what their getting as far as quality and how long the clipper will last rather than taking a risk with the new companies.

For those of us who don't care about click levers, flashy colors, etc and just want a strong cordless clipper that gets the job done, the Senior is perfect, IMHO. There's a reason it keeps winning Zero Gapped clipper of the year...

You asked what we would want from a Wahl clipper. Honestly, if they had put a click-lever on the new black Magic Clips (the one with the new and improved stronger motor) I would have copped them already. It would have been a simple design improvement that would at least shown that Wahl is in tune with today's barbers and cares about staying current.

I know I will be in the minority on this. But I never understood the hype around the magic clip. If I’m using a clipper, I want in all purpose clipper. Something that removes bulk, some thing that fades great, something great for clipper over comb. I don’t know if it was just a magic clip that I had. But it basically had no torque, and no power. I found it basically unusable. It was good for getting out the first guideline. But that’s all that I used it for. I just got the rebels in a couple of days ago. I think it’s an awesome machine. I have only used it for a few days. But as of right now it is my go to. We’ll see what happens in a few months🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I believe if Wahl and Andis need to add more power and battery life to their clippers. Maybe some magnetic motors. If both companies make these improvements, barbers will jump back to theses companies. In my opinion, they got the best blades, cutting wise. Don’t get me wrong, BaByliss makes some fire blades. Gamma makes some thin blades so they’re clippers could have a longer battery life. I put a thicker cutting blade on the Gamma Apex and cut the running time in half. Any way, thanks for the video’s!! I appreciate your time and honesty brotha!!
