Just bought one. Love it sooo much! Guys, do not scare of the price tag, price is fair, because it is Smart trainer + Climbr+ your bike = $3500, without damaging your own bike. Maint free, no chain, no cassette, no chainring to replace. Virtual gearing meaning configure to any groupset you want, biggest thing I love is shifting under heavy load, when you're out of saddle for sprint, climb. Smooth rolling give a big grin everytime.
@pynappel4 жыл бұрын
But would you buy it if you just got into cycling? Don’t have anything I just mountain bike. Don’t really want to use mtb or buy a street bike I’ll never use on the road?

I am considering getting one. I sweat like a madman indoors, I bought a Giant Content specifically as a Trainer bike and have a Kickr. I'm already rusting out the front mech and have to clean/lube my chain with every ride. An encapsulated belt drive sounds so enticing. Also can offset some of the cost by selling the Kickr and the Giant. Leaning towards the purchase.
@datrc514 жыл бұрын
Kickr bike with virtual gear allows to config any make (Shimano, Campy...) and any gear ratio to suit your taste. This is one of the value that most people overlook in $3500. Think about how much it cost if you upgrade from one groupset to another.

We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. kzbin.infoUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.

A lot of people hating on these bikes for the cost, but if you add it up it's cheaper than most people run currently. $2000 bike, $1500 trainer, maybe $800 for the kickr climb and you get close to this feature set. Add in the reduced maintenance costs and wear and you'll end up saving thousands over the years.

Hey Jeremy. A couple of corrections. Zwift does support braking, but it doesn't really affect much other than allowing you to come to a stop a little faster if you want to get in to the menu, or save your ride really fast. Also, when you are riding on virtual roads, and the software is sending incline data to the trainer (for resistance and trainer incline) that is call SIM mode or Course Mode. ERG mode is when you are in a workout and the training software enforces specific wattage based on the intervals.

What makes this an "unquestionable step up"? Isn't your bike more comfortable than this? Seems like a waste of money.
@IraklyShanidze00X4 жыл бұрын
@@usman5140 I am not sure about comfort, but I have a sneaky suspicion that it can be adjusted to be just as comfortable if it is the comfort that you are after. What's more important, it is ready for the incoming Zwift upgrade, which makes braking and steering possible. Also, it is like having a climbing bike, an endurance bike, and a TT bike in one package. You can change the frame geometry depending on the exercise. Not to mention its ability to tilt up and down to simulate the terrain. Even with the Wahoo thingy, which tilts the bike, it does not feel real, as it has the front hub as a pivoting point, while in reality, it can be in the middle of the bike.

If you could rock on it like the kurt Kinetic rocker I would say the trainer is worth every penny. Having the incline decrease and increase and not being able to at least rock a little bit when your out of the saddle takes the reality right out of the indoor ride.

It depends on what you mean, training indoors may require a different approach purely because the mental stimulus is different, some find that reducing overall workout time and increasing the intensity is a way of getting more out of an indoor trainer, but others will happily do the same workouts on the road and indoors - you'll find out through experience what works for you!
