What would be really helpful is for the bike to adjust position automatically for different individuals in your household (or gym). You would tap on the app your name with prior inputted measurements and the bike would adjust position (saddle height, fore and aft, bike length and handlebar height) using small inbuilt motors. Also the ability to weight the rider would be helpful for Zwift and monitoring sweat loss during a session. For $4K there needs to be much more to entice the market than the same old stuff you get for just the usual (much cheaper) smart trainer.

In you video you talk about the need for the wahoo app to be on so the weight is correct and the ride feel is accurate to an individuals weight. My zwift would not connect when I had the app open. Does it need to be open or does weight just need to be up to date? Also my wife and I will share the bike, how will it know its her on the bike and not me?

I have had nothing but issues with Wahoo Fitness App for setting up the Kickr Bike Cassette... its so frustrating that the app never remembers what the setting you defined previously, is, so each time you log in you have to 'remember' what you set it at before, So a small tween to the cassette means you have to remember how you defined the teeth before.

Can you use the unassigned buttons to control a head unit, just like with a real di2 system?
@gplama5 жыл бұрын
No.
@Kref35 жыл бұрын
Hi. Nice video. If I understand this correctly you cannot modify the DI2 buttons, right? Because I don’t like the standard setting of DI2 I have reprogrammed mine: Rear buttons control cogs - left easier (bigger), right harder (smaller) Front buttons control chainring and again left easier (smaller), right harder (bigger) Reason for this is that I don’t need the chainring often when in the drops but mostly the cogs only an the rest buttons are easier to reach. Would be nice if this trainer could be set up the same.

No Di2 reprogramming at this point. Just defaults.

Other than having experience on a standard spin bike with no gears and only a MTB with 9 gears, I’ve never had a go of a road bike, so the gearing seems alien to me. Do you have any videos for new comers like me and what the numbers for each gearing system means? I’m looking at getting a wahoo kickr bike myself so any info would be appreciated, thanks in advance for any replies.

@@karlwebb8914 Rear cassette is the same as MTB/Road/etc. 11t is hard to push, 30 (or even a 50) on the back is easy to spin up hills. If you have 12 gears between 11-50 there's bigger jumps between each gear.

Will this have the same problem as the kickr climb when it comes to trainer difficulty (that is, in Zwift if trainer difficulty is set to 50%, the climb will halve the gradient unless you futz with the wheelbase length)? If so, I'd probably keep trainer difficulty at 100% and end up with a virtual triple front chainring. Granny gears for me!

Have to use the app if multiple users share the bike? But what if I want to use my wife's profile. 5'2"... petite build. I can only imagine how easy hills feel for her. One of these days I want to use her Zwift account and ruin her AdZ PR. For me my PR is 82 minutes which was about 280w (probably would struggle to average 250-260 today) aka 2.5 w/kg. At closer to 4.3 w/kg (at wife's weight and my best average power) I bet I could get a time she could never hit :p Even if I were having an off day and say was closer to 4.0 on her account... And of course not tell her I did that.

A regular trainer goes up to around $2,000 we're talkin about a good smart trainer a regular trainer goes up to around two thousand dollars were talking about a good smart trainer. let's see here you take your 2 , 3 ,4 $5,000 dollar road bike and put on the trainer. After a few months your screws and everything metal starts to rust. Your bottom bracket starts to make noise. For people that take cycling as a sport would rather not abused their bikes and get one of these Wahoo bikes to use indoors. Most of us have two to three bikes anyway why not get the Wahoo bike as an indoor training bike. In the long run you will be saving money not abusing your more expensive bikes. I mentioned before that trainers can go up to $2,000+ this wahoo bike comes with a lot more than any trainer. This bike cannot only be used as a personal training bike many people who fit and train others can use this bike for there job to fit others. Its very good and the price in reasonable.

Add up the cost of your Kickr or Neo, add in Kickr climb add in cost of a rocker plate, add in a cheap aluminum bike. Now if you have multiple riders in the house x that by that amount. I have a new Sworks Venge that I will not put on a trainer for long periods of time for indoor training just because the data is not out there on how these trainers stress the stays out. For what the Kickr bike does I would say it is fair pricing as long as the unit is built with quality to last. I also like that it is like a retul fit bike so I can experiment with geometries of different bikes before I buy bikes of different brands.
