When this first came out, I was working nightshift in a factory in Belgium and I was lucky enough to be able to get Triple J on the internet. This song made me so homesick for Western Australia. It was winter there, and I was missing the summer, the beach and family / friends. After seven years of travelling the world, I finally decided it was time to turn for home. Every time I hear it, it takes me back to that moment. ❤

My 10 week trip down under to visit friends, Bush walk and take in a bit of cricket. This song was constantly on the radio. I bought the CD in Hobart...... Twenty years later I'm still listening. I'm crying as I type this because the band have been such a big part of my life. A gig at a pub in Birmingham was truly an amazing experience. I've tried to spread the word. London is now only worth visiting for a few months unless you have serious money or a very high-paying job (e.g. £150k+ in 2023). It's just not a nice place to live for more than a year if you're renting. I'm selling up and moving out. Should have done it years ago. My advice to any Aussies aiming to work in London in an average job - set a time limit and stick to it. You'll want to linger because you could live your whole life in London and do half a dozen different things every day in one of the world's great cities - but your life is passing by and it is costing you. Every day you will pass a dozen beautiful stylish people drawn into the capital from all over the world and able to saunter from non-job to gym/yoga to pub/club by floating on monied privilege.
