​@@itslilshrimp3814No, not even that existed at the time lol. Early access to the game only became a thing by July 2017, meanwhile 2.1 was released in January 2017. So yeah, Fortnite was not released in any way shape or form when 2.1 was released.

I assume that Rob top wouldn't just decide to post on the 10 year anniversary of geometry dash, especially considering that he said the last preview was the last showcase of gd 2.2 and he would just have to publish it. It's more likely it'd come out sometime in July

i just wanna know what the hell happened. like... robtop said 2.2 would be a small update and it wouldn't take nearly as long as 2.1 did. like what the hell is was he thinking? i genuinely hate robtop shift of update philosophy. back in the daythe updates were tiny. they added like one feature. Or a handfull like 1.9. Then with 2.0... it was over. And to me, its a terrible change. 2.0 was huge. And it really didn't have to be. If robtop added one feature at a time like he did before, we would be much better off... All this negativity aside though, 2.2 is close. It will be out at some point and i am 100% certain it will be the biggest revolution we have EVER seen. Like the game will be played in ways we can't even imagine. Hell, there will be an entirely new speedrun community and list with platformer mode coming out, the possibilities are literally endless. I honestly can't even imagine the feeling of opening the game that has been the same for over half a decade and there being... new stuff. It's completely surreal to me...

It's a common problem in gamedev called feature creep. He started with a small update, then wanted to add something else, then it just gets bigger and bigger in scope until you get this kind of thing. It happens a lot with developers like Robtop that don't have anyone else working with them so they're just left to their own devices. Also at one point he apparently lost the source code for version 2.1 and had to rebuild the game from scratch so that probably took him a long time.
