I read a forum post by the guy who record these videos talking about this session. He said 'This session was REALLY HARD! Kyle kills as a vocalist. He's really dynamic, which I immediately knew was going to be virtually impossible to get him audible over the cymbal crashes in the room. On the verse for the first song they play, you can tell he's barely even moving his lips. Super soft.' The softness of his voice is very much part of their sound but from a production standpoint, it's difficult to get it to work like this with all the loud instruments playing at once and bleeding into each other. I like the softness and subtlety of the vocals. They're not in your face like some bands.

***** real emo is not at all about subdued vocals, its supposed to be passionate not necessarily "subdued". I assume when you throw out the phrase "real emo" you're referring to bands like CapnJazz, Rites of spring, texas is the reason?
@gregorydowney54109 жыл бұрын
Joe Molloy yes but by subdued i mean in the production not the delivery... the vocals should be somewhat in the background not the high-lite of the song...
