Great video. Nice to know the order. Wake to wake is down. Toe side and heel side 180's. Working on the handle pass on the surface 360. Twisted an ankle on a back roll attempt but it's getting close. XD. No back roll attempts this week but still working basic tricks while I "rehab". Keep bringing the vids!

I really like your videos, pretty cool atmosphere in it, great skills on the water and no useless show off attitude which is very pleasant !! One little question, where does raley stands for you in this progression ? I would say about the same as tantrum but I just wanted opinion of a pro. thx

Super solid video! Thanks for the helpful direction. So, I can go HS wake to wake, and switch HS wake to wake. Should I then begin working on TS w2w or reg and switch HS 180s or continue to dial in my "pop", which still needs work? That said, I can do a ton of ollie 180s FS and BS switch and reg (just for some background), and I can ride switch nearly as well as regular. Thanks!

@tkrey237 жыл бұрын
Got on a wakeboard for the first time last summer. Now I am 100% comfortable switch, can go wake to wake on both heels and both toes, and can do all 4 180's that aren't blind very reliably - no crashes anymore. I spent some time trying to do blind 180's but I never got the rope pass down. Kept getting out of shape, almost horizontal with the water, and landing on my toes and hurting my ankles. Decided to spend more time getting smoother at passing the rope spinning on the surface, so that's what I've been doing lately. Aside from that, I have a few times played around with lining up a tantrum and it feels weird! But I've never actually tried committing and throwing it. I am fine with backflips on a trampoline but timing everything on the wake seems scary. Maybe I'll take your advice and "don't be a pussy". haha. I will probably only be able to ride a couple more times before winter! (That was longer than I intended!)

Hey David, do you use fins on your wakeboard? If not, what skill level did you take them off?
@nickhendry23207 жыл бұрын
And what would you recommend, fins or no fins. I'm a beginner btw. I can jump the wake and 360.
@SuperCrapmypants7 жыл бұрын
It's all personal preference. For cable usually no fins. For boat most people like a little bit like maybe 2 half inch fins on each side, some have more and some have less, it all depends on the type of board and shape and preferably

When I first watched this vid last year I thought Dave was talking Romany or Cockney slang and couldn't understand a (wakeboarding) word... Fast forward a year plus, with the advice from the wakeboard wonder and his vids, I now speak and understand wakeboardese to a certain extent. I have truly progressed towards my goals in this fantastic sport, from zero to enthusiastic and competent novice in one season... There are Champions and then there are People Champions. Dave OC is, by a country mile, the Peoples Champion of wakeboarding. docwake.com peace!

is there a big difference between old wakeboards and newer wakeboards ? because I've got an old jobe wakeboard (2001) and I want to know if its worth the money to buy a new board... they are sooo expensive ! and is there a big difference between wakeboarding with or without waketower ? because I can't convince my dad to buy one (he says its not such a big difference)
@DavidOCaoimhWakeboarder7 жыл бұрын
Clement Duhamel hey, so yeah the first thing I'd say is maybe go for an upgrade on the board. A lot of big changes have happened in the last 16years in board technology. They are now way more responsive, lighter and user friendly to ride. Then as far as the tower, it helps a lot, maybe look at getting a pylon (I've done a video on what's possible with one on my channel before)
@Clemduh7 жыл бұрын
Is there still going to be a pylon giveaway, or did I mis it ?
@joshuahatton87227 жыл бұрын
I may also add, as a beginner to intermediate rider that your bindings are pretty critical as well. I noticed a huge difference going from a looser open toe to a molded closed toe binding.
