I love this place, even done a video on it. But I hadn’t heard of the “Mr Bowler story”. Brilliant! You learn everyday 😀

Great walk Gareth. I'm planning a holiday to Derbyshire next year and I plan to visit Cromwell so I will definitely do that walk.

If you keep going beyond the cottage there are loads more things to see. Tunnels and all sorts.

Hi matey, dude, absolutely love your videos, and my partner and I (I am pretty sure) will one day bump in to you on our travels and we will say hi. Would be a bloody delight. I love hiking in a lot of places that you explore, so it is nice to hear about these places from a different angle. I was in Cromford twice last week. Walking, but also visiting the mills. The wharf is excellent, and have been of the 72ft Birdswood twice. Has Brian Blessed doing the tour voice over. Pretty cool. You chuck in some absolute dimes every now and then, too. Anyway, thanks again. Lee, Derby (Darley Abbey).

Hayup Gareth very good this, lots of information well presented, that tunnel to Arkwrights first house, I’m guessing ‘‘twas a tunnel to a boat house? I’ve seen evidence that fairly grand houses in Bristol had underground entrances down to rivers an estuary, exspensive goods in plus a handy escape route out. I wasn’t able to edit or delete comments on your last upload, I’ve noted that my writing gets slightly altered as I submit comments even after I’ve read it, so I’m guessing I make even less sense than usual. Cheers
