Cracking video Gareth, my old stomping ground when I was growing up, 66 now, so a long time ago, I remember both the gcr, and arkwright station, and the steam locos

I'm in the next village 😅 That pump house was "accessible" when i came across it during lockdown, not much to see inside to be honest. Interesting theory about the gas leakage 😮 I only vaguely remember the original terraces fronting the main road, i didn't live up here at the time, but not a bad deal, nice new house and away from the main road in most cases. There's a documentary about it on KZbin somewhere, interviewing the residents.

Howdo Gareth I had a feeling this may be a tad controversial an as I try to avoid conspiracy when I can! I thought I’d let the dust settle before leaving a comment, why did the village cross the road to get to the other town propelled by methane me thinks you’re absolutely right to ponder the scenario still probably nothing in it. Having said that probably best to get the minerals rights to one’s land when an if you can just in case you’ve landed on Quartzy substance or element for battery’s of the future that’d be sure to kick up a storm. Anymore talk like this an we’ll be restricted to our own counties. Steady on old boy it’s only money a control a not our future at that.we belong on the railways a first class at that. Cheers

I’m positive it was radon gas. Very common. I’ve worked in numerous old pit houses in ex pit villages and they had radon gas alarms fitted in them.

they) wanted the rescources that were under the village obviously they couldnt entertain the idea of loosing there little worker bees or risk displaceing them so moved them simply that! back then though people were more gulable take the elan valley in wales for instance they learnt from that scinario ( do your own research and i would suggest following the money) its a convaluted inverted times we're living in and started many thousands of years ago
