Two of my friends, Tommy Pesek and Antonio Garza from Jourdanton, Texas were killed 4 months apart in 1967. I went to both of their funerals. My heat came back when I listened to this song again. God be with them always.

@@karensylvia9423 No. I don't know where they came up with the name Walker. And they aren't British. Scott Engel was born in Southern California. I think they were having trouble getting a recording contract here, and so some producer took them over to the UK where they became huge!

I heard this song being played on National Public Radio as they went to a commercial break, and it was being played in remembrance of Scott Walker, because he'd just died. I hadn't heard the song since the 1960's when I was a kid, but I recognized it immediately as one of the melodies that was truly great and which I loved. After rediscovering this hit upon his death, I've been playing it many times and watching this and one other video the most often. I love this song.

Timeless song, people get old and die. Memories live forever. I recall hearing this song, when I found out tv actress Rebecca Schaeffer from My Sister Sam was killed by that psycho fan in 1990. So sad. . the group was before my time, what talent.

I was in Walter Reed medical hospital when this song came out I just got back from Vietnam I lost both my legs when I hear this song and the music of 1968 it makes me happy and all those years gone by it still makes me happy and listening to this song brings a tear to my eye eye

I love Scott Walker and the Walker Brothers. Scott's voice is a powerhouse simply magnificent. The Walker Brothers were huge in the UK more so than here in the USA. The Brits imo have superior tastes in pop music.

It was such a common radio term then, and is still an identifier today, in music history. Look it up. Not everything is "racist." Sometimes it's HISTORICAL.

What a beautiful song. I had this song on my local oldies station and I just had to come here on YT to see it performed by the group. These Walker brothers really delivered. A masterpiece from a very strong music era that produced so much great music. I’m telling you 60’s-80’s was the greatest era of music ever. 50’s not to far behind.
