One thing I forgot to mention at the end, I love Axel and Hershel’s subtle friendship arc this volume. Hershel won’t even give him the time of day at the beginning, but by the end they’re working side by side as Axel learns how to farm under his guide.

I remember when Michonne showed up in the comics and I was so excited to see her. Then as I read further, it was like "wtf is Kirkman on?" like he had so many issues writing her. Thank goodness the show actually gave her a personality.

The weird part is that supremacy ideology just wouldn't work in the zombie apocalypse like you think you're better than zombies OK... go prove it! get bit! Also not to mention how terrible they are at creating a social group, so it makes sense for them to get exclude them. Also if it was zombie apocalypse it's probably not good for your survival to be excommunicated from a group.

That's what happens when written by Kirkman. And it's not just Michonne & Ty either. Every character and group in the comics is significantly worse in terms of personality, and have very little writing and depth in comparison to the far more well-written TV counterpart.

I'm really enjoying your videos. I definitely enjoy the TV version of Michonne better than the comic. Kirkman pretty much just threw her at almost every Black man who came along. Seemed like he didn't really know what to do with her. I enjoyed Tyrese better in the comic, though, especially in his relation with Rick.
@Swell-Films2 ай бұрын
I think the issue with Tyreese in the show is that Daryl took most of his dynamic with Rick, so by the time he showed up he already felt like an after thought, where as comic Tyreese is Rick’s right hand from the very beginning.

@@KingJaymo2k11there’s two separate characters both named Lily. Lily from the game and Lily from Woodbury. There’s a series of novels about her and Bob (the town trunk/doctor) and how they arrived at Woodbury. It goes all the way up to when she kills the governor and then actually continues on for about another year or so. It shows what the survivors of Woodbury did after they took the prison down. It’s canon with the comic universe and really interesting reads.

WE ARE THE WALKING DEAD! I loved that line way better in the comics because of the situation/thier surroundings. Rick vs Tyrese fight was bound to happen from their moments. I didn't care for Carol and Michonne in the comics because of what they do. Carol often acted on impulse instead of logic getting here into trouble and Michonne just didn't care about what she did for her introduction because of what she lived through. Plus, she got with Tyrese knowing he was with Carol (its also Tyrese fault too for even giving in) so its equal blame. It was a slow volume but a good one. Looking forward to the next one! Fun fact: Andrew appears again in The Walking Dead: Fall of The Governor Part One but as a walker. Lilly Caul from the books sees him walking while on a supply run which confirms his fate after running away from the prison :)

TV show michonne is alot more played if I'm being honest. She was insane in the comics as she is very much a let's shake up the mood it feels undeserved in the comics that michonne in the comics never really reflects on her trauma over the governor or people like him and her real arc of putting down the weapon WAS complete which is good cuz you see her trying to go back to normalcy and lose her partner over and over. But specifically I remember her coming onto Heath and his loyalty to Denise and the fact they're stable enough to not feel like animals

Swell Vid! (neked happy dance) 🙂 Still amazed at how Carol's show arc and comic arc were so different. Melissa brought something to her character that resonated with the viewers. In the comics she was pretty much a throw away character... and I despised the whole Lori/Carol/Rick thing... ugh... It is so kewl to revisit the comics and see how differently the characters were portrayed, yet still honored in the show in a way... (Carol's comic demise being played out with Lizzy in The Grove). Great work! Thank you so much!

To me I liked this issue a lot but I didn’t like Carol in the comics but it was sad what she did to herself she did deserve better but I didn’t like how she kissed Rick or how she wanted to be with Lori and Rick but she was lonely. I’d like to see the environment itself affect the zombies themselves more.
