How does the tv show miss out on making such a badass character like Andrea?

Because the actress didn't fit the character. Lori Holden is a good actress, but she was too old to play Andrea. Andrea is 25 years old in the begging of the comics, and in the series Andrea is late 30s.

@@01NATHAN10 Frank Darabont invited his friends to play in the show. And he had a different view of story, so he was fired. Frank wanted a horror sci-fi with elements of survival, not survival and human relationships like in the original comics.

Thank you so much!! The cast have been amazing and they've continued to do an incredible job! With the F slur, the voice actor asked me if he could swap it for "Fucking". I agreed with him. I didn't want him to say a word he wasn't comfortable saying.
