Some people will argue that in such a post-apocalyptic world, a man-child who commands cult-like respect from his followers tossing around the f-bomb every other sentence would be a real thing that could happen. To those I say I do agree; it is pretty immersive, and if you crave immersion in your zombie tv shows, then kudos to you. But as I read through Negan's fuck-sprinkled dialogue in the comics, I felt my eyes start to glaze over as the word "fuck" had really lost it's impact a long while ago. Maybe it's just me, but I like my fucks like I like my cunts: used sparingly and with great impact.

If you notice, Abraham was the last person to have the bat pointed at him. After that we only see Carl’s and Rick’s expressions. We already knew it won’t be Rick or Carl because Negan said he will cut out Carl’s eye and feed it to Rick if anyone tried to intervene. Abraham’s death was foreshadowed from the start.

Jeffery Dean Morgan's acting really fits with the less vulgar incentive in the show. He does an incredible job with the character and honestly has ripped any preconceived ideas of Negan out of my head and replaced them with his own character. Despite how lack luster the show is at times, there is no boring scene with Negan on screen and that goes to show how absolutely talented and awe-inspiring Jeff is as an actor. I wouldn't say he was born to play Negan, as that would undersell how talented he really is, but I do feel like everything fell into place for his character, and I can tell that he enjoyed playing the tyrant.

The walking dead always captured all villains in an accurate way, and always picked the best actors. What I mean is that they always have good villains, however negan’s storyline with the war was pretty messy, and that’s a shame because it could’ve been so much better.
@cameronbleecker90723 жыл бұрын
the “all out war” arc was so boring, even though Jeffrey Dean Morgan portrayed Negan SO WELL. there were also huge opportunities for Rick and others’ character arcs to make a lot of sense, but it’s like the writers went on vacation and forgot what they were doing with their show.
@solidzack3 жыл бұрын
@@cameronbleecker9072 I've never seen a show getting so disconnected to itself. It's like it devolved into an entirely different show now. As far as villains go, Shane and Negan were the best by far. Simon was a good secondary antagonist, as he was more destructive than Negan and Gareth from Terminus was also a big threat for a short while. The governor had his moments, but felt like a cliché villain with no reason behind his deeds, except being evil. Everyone else ranged from bad to absolutely terrible in terms of both writing and execution, to the point where the writers had to make them kill their own people for no reason in order to show that they are supposed to be a threat (Alpha and Pope for example). I only wanted to finish this show now to finally Conclude with it, but since no new episodes will come out til ca. February 2022 I may as well pass.

@@leesup999 The Governor is universally agreed upon as being the best villain in the whole show. And as far as all of the show villain counterparts to the comics, Governor is easily the one that improved the most in the show. Governor in the comics was just a cartoony pirate who was nothing but evil for the sake of being evil. No depth beyond that whatsoever. In fact I think most of the main villains in the show are a direct improvement to their comic counterparts in either small or very large degrees.

One thing I gotta give the Walking Dead show credit for is how PERFECTLY CAST a lot of the major characters were (like even though Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Andrew Lincoln don’t look EXACTLY like their comic book counterparts, they captured their essences perfectly to the point where I actually PREFER how a lot of the characters look in the TV show). How Negan was drawn in the comic made me always think of 90s era Steven Seagal (and how the Governor was depicted in the comics made him look more like Danny Trejo).

Jeffery was really into the role, and that made this scene one of the best adaptation from the comics; leaving basically everything unchanged. It really was one of the few moments in the show where it felt like the comic book was coming to life.

As a fan of the book, some changes killed it for me. Mostly Andrea. My favorite book character. Fans of this show will never know what made her great and how sad it was when she died. Because she was an insufferable moron in the show.

I love how even though in a lot of parts, the TV show has altered so much from the comics, yet they always work out a way to bring it altogether in the end for example, Glen being the only one who died originally, having brought Abraham past his point of death in the show *as Denise was the one who died with his death from the comics* not a lot of people did not imagine 2 , deaths in this episode. But in hindsight I understand completely why it happened. And of course it makes complete sense now lol. However... this i think has to be the most accurate scene to date from the comics ... script and Glenn death, but how they worked abraham and Darryl into the TV version was so clever.
