Andrea on the TV show sucked. The actress could not pull off playing the part and that's why Mazarra screwed up the part. Andrea in the comics kicks ass. Laurie Holden is a good actress she just was not a good fit for the part.

The S3 finale is literally the worst episode ever and before anyone disagrees I would like to point out a few things. Governor attacks the prison and the group...shoots at the ground and scares them away! The group decides afterwards that they are going to chase them down to their base and finish it?!? So now they will kill or just more shooting at the ground! Nevermind governor killed them all so out group can remain good guys. Carl shoots one of the invaders when he is protecting a one legged old man his baby sister and a teen girl and then is basically labeled a murderer! Not to mention Andreas 18 hr breakout speech session and then death. The group ignores Daryl losing his brother barring one line and then at the end the ghosts go away and all the groups come together! Just so that the real prison assault could take place the next year! IMO

It's mainly because of how great of a character he is in the comic. I don't know if the TV series Negan will be as good as the comic Negan, but either way, I recommend you read the comics. Negan is amazing in the comics, as well as Carl. Carl is SO much better in the comics than in the show. In fact, Carl is probably my second favorite comic character, second only to Negan right now.

I never realized that Andrea was such a big/favorite character when I started watching the show (not a comic reader) and I was just waiting for her to leave the show. It wasn't until I joined the fandom that I saw people were so upset about the whole thing. I feel bad for the actress that it happened that way but to each their own. I loved Andrea in Season 2, how she grew and became a badass alpha female. But then in Season 3, they just messed her character up and where like "Shit, how can we fix this? Just kill her I guess." Tbh, think they just killed her off because of the fans that hated her.

A lot of this isn't ground breaking by any means. She revealed the bit about being there for the long haul quite some time back. 2013 if I recall with Nicotero. The grievances with her and DeMunn are pretty well documented at this point. Plus if you were a comic fan, you knew the character has been around for a long time. Mazzara fucked over Merle/Rooker too. DeMunn apparently changed his mind on Dale and realized the Dale fans probably wanted him to live, but nope. That's his fault I suppose, but you can't blame the guy either. Darabont had been fired and Season 2 had heavy drama on and off the screen. Its no secret AMC's handling of the Darabont situation could have absolutely sunk the show. Its an odd situation because...well everybody has a different voice of opinion on this one. There are those that are happy she's dead for shipping related reasons. There are those that are happy she's dead because other characters got her material. There are those that are happy she's dead because they think the character is actually better than Comic Andrea. There are those that are happy she's dead because they don't enjoy Gimple's era and they don't think it would've been a good thing for Andrea anyway. There are those who hate her and view Comic Andrea as way better. To me, I do miss the character and wonder where Gimple would've taken her. Yet 3 Seasons later, flipping vans, hidden guns that take out multiple people, Assassins Creed takes on characters. If they made her as silly as they've made Carol at times. Its such a tough call. I think Gimple would've favored McBride over Holden anyway. Fans would likely be bitching about Andrea being Rick's love interest as a sole purpose, not much different than Danai/Michonne now. Too many characters as they say. Having Merle and Andrea wouldn't have changed the fact that the show has NEVER been very good at balancing its cast whatsoever. Some seasons certain characters get it better than others and vice versa. Its never above average though. However...despite all that...the biggest mistake was firing Darabont for me. The show will be forever tainted by that move. He would've played fast and loose with the comics, kept things interesting. Mazzara didn't care about story, only shock value deaths. Gimple only copy and pastes the comics. You notice when he does TV original stuff, it usually doesn't make much sense (the flu coming and going for no reason) or absolutely sucks (Hospital).

As someone who didn't even look into the comic until season 6 I can say there is no cinematic way Rick and Andrea where going to end up together. In season one it definitely felt like that might be building, but then Andrea CHOOSE to go the opposite way of Rick two times in major ways. You forget going and being with the Governor and Shane isn't just an she chose their body but also their mindsets that were directly in conflict of Ricks mindset. That's the direct opposite of building trust and a good relationship. I'd say by the time Andrea dead on the show they were distant acquaintances that used to get along. And the only feeling for her death from Rick would be losing someone from the original group. It would take years to build up any kind of close relationship with Rick if she hadn't dead.

trev actually i really hope it's not glenn that got Lucilled ! i re watched the series again and in my opinion Glenn has the biggest chunk of bad things happening to him, more than anyone else in the series. i mean that poor guy has really suffered from horrible things, and always he was the one who is doing the sacrifices's . (being stuck under a dumpster, tied up while being attacked by a walker, stuck in a tunnel full of walkers. waiting in line and ofcourse being the first one from the group to get slaughtered like an animal, watching his friends get eaten by walkers, waking up alone in a prison full of walkers.) and alot of things ofcourse.!! summery Glenn deserves a happier ending thats a message for the director's of the show . thanks :)

People only see whats on screen. Dont look into actors performances but only which CHARACTERS are nice ex. "Oh Beth was nice i miss her" or "Oh Andrea was crap." It's annoying. I loved and miss Holden; still pissed Andrea died. You as the audience get to see everything. Who is bad, who is good. As the characters you dont get to know that. Andrea saw a safe haven like everyone there in it. Michonne was scarred prior to meeting Andrea and was a misanthrope cause of whatever it was that scarred her and made it hard for her to trust people so from that she was a bit more cautious. They both could have been anywhere and she still would have been unhappy. It just so happened that this was not a safe place , in fact the complete opposite. If you guys were on your feet for months (danger all around/cold nights with walkers) you'd all hope for a place like Woodbury to be THE place you'd hope it would be. Andrea slept with him because of Carol and Michonnes reveal what happened after she left. She's not that there with mixed emotions like "Oh this man isnt what i thought he was" it all become confirmed to her this man has to die so no one else gets killed. If she had known and had solid proof through her eyes that they(Woodbury hunters) werent gonna let them both go free without a witch hunt she never would have stayed and let michonne leave alone. Both would have put up a hell of a fight to escape. Anyways, she slept to kill him afterwards. But it's hard to take a life away no matter what you guys think or think you know. You have to understand she was a human rights lawyer prior apocalypse. Also there is a difference killing in self defense and killing in cold blood so when she has her chance shes looking at it like "i cant do this; there has to be another way." Even your badass Carol is facing hard times killing and realizing how impactful it can be afterwards. From guarding farm to meeting Michonne and prior apocalypse being a human rights lawyer not much room and experience in killing. It'd be hard for you too. She was strong and like Sasha was not a victim to turning into a monster (so to speak.) It was about her not being a victim and letting this new horrific world turn you for the worst she protected the ones she loved and she tried to save a whole community. You died for something bigger than you and not in vein. 2018 and still wishing TV Andrea was shown just as badass as comic Andrea was. Andrea I'd follow you anywhere Oh Captain my Captain.

Andrea is probably top 3 for me at this point and I hate not having her in the series, that was a huge mistake in my opinion. Negan is already a great character and I'm curiouss to see wich way Kirkman is going with him, I still can't him and Rick working together butbif that's what is coming it should be fun as well. I also think Negan will die at some point and it would be great if Carl was his killer , it would be awesome to Carl's development as the main character as you pointed out.

I think you're right about how Andrea just couldn't be with Rick after being with the Governor (and Shane). It's sad, yes, since her comic-book counterpart is so awesome and well-developed. I also agree with how great Carl is in the comic, and what they could potentially be gearing him up for. On a Negan note: I f*cking hate Negan. I f*cking love Negan. I f*cking hate that I love him and love that I hate him. Wow, the turn Kirkman has taken with him, ya insane. I can't wait to see how that all goes. He is definitely one of the most complex and entertaining characters of TWD, at least the comic. Is he turning ito an anti-hero? Hmm, not so sure but just what is he going to do with this whole Whisperer thing? It will be one of the most interesting story arcs of the series I think. Love ya you rock, keep up the good work!

I would've been pissed. That's like with any job. You sign a contract. Signature and dated and then it's a slap in the face. I didn't read the comics so I don't know how her character was/is in the comics but on the show she sucked. I hated Andreas character so much! I was happy when she was killed off, it was time she was super annoying, lol.
