Daryl and Carol are both survivors of abuse. His dad, her husband. I think people forget the reason for their incredibly strong bond. When they were rescued by her at Terminus, and Daryl ran to hug her it was a reinforcement of two people who IRL would never know each other, yet in the zombie apocalypse are almost symbiotic.

Considering how the Grady people "rescued" Noah but left his dad for dead, them hitting Carol on purpose is highly probable.
@pyr14125 жыл бұрын
Juan B. They couldn’t save his dad. He was badly wounded and I think they couldn’t move him or he would have died from being moved plus he would be unable to work and be another life that needs to be saved.

@@pyr1412 I'm almost certain they hit carol intentionally though, they had to do the same with Beth otherwise what's the point of them being in a hospital if they're not injured? They're there for a reason, they are there to serve for them because they are 'weak' people
@JuanSolo95 жыл бұрын
@@pyr1412 If Dawn and her officers are as noble as they say they are, they would've at least tried. Noah even says that the only reason they saved him and not his dad was because he was weaker, and would have almost no chance fighting back. Grady only saves people who they know they can control.

also how Beth got abducted. She didn't remember how she got there and she was injured. She probably got hit on purpose as well.
@NeuroticNicky875 жыл бұрын
They hit the 'weak' ones and then 'saved' them so the victim would be indebted to them, I'm not surprised they see Carol as 'weak', because they don't know what she's capable of, like we do 😆. I see it a bit like the hero syndrome, where cops/ firepersons, etc cause a situation they can potentially resolve and be branded a hero because of their 'heroic' actions.

I think this episode gives both necessary understanding to Carol's emotional state and also shows Daryl's unique way of caring for people plus his loyalty, to fight for people he loves to the bitter end. For me Daryl being a badass is cool but it's this side of him that makes him my favourite.
@angie-tq4ew5 жыл бұрын
Daryl didn't get pissed at Noah at first because not only was Noah a kid, but that he thought that it would be easy enough to track him, and get the weapons back. Especially since Noah is lame. But, he changed his tune about Noah when it finally hit him, and terrified him that Carol got so hurt that she almost got killed not being able to defend herself. You're right. They feed off of each others fears. 😊🌺🏝️❤️

I always love how they use the imagery of smoke and fire in this episode, and how it connects all the past/flashback scenes to the present. The flashbacks of the prison burning, the smoke from the burning cabin, burning Karen and David's bodies...then the current-day scene of Daryl burning the walkers' bodies, all connecting to "we ain't ashes" and Carol's comments about being burned away - all these details are so great. Such an amazing episode.

I did not pick up on how the people on the covered bridge had managed to die inside sleeping bags and tents. I figured they died when Atlanta got bombed. I didn’t see the bullet holes until you pointed them out. I’m glad you’re observant, Lacey. It’s interesting to see the character development as people go on. We’ve known Carol, Daryl, Rick, Glenn, and Carl since the Atlanta camp. We see where Carol revisits her past, both at the domestic violence safe house, and where she’s beginning to feel everything she’s had to do to survive. I still find Carol’s character development to be amazing, having seen her go from being scared of everything while with Ed to being the person to save the group at Terminus. Daryl had some survival skills going in to this, but he didn’t seem to have much of a sense of self either while Merle was around. Even by his own words, he and Merle were just drifting. They woke up and did whatever Merle said they were going to do that day. We saw just how much Daryl changed when he and Merle reunited and separated from the group again. Would Daryl, as he existed back before separating from Merle, be going to find Beth? I do think the people from the hospital were injuring people on purpose to force them into some kind of servitude. We know Dawn had little to no control of the other officers under her charge. Gorman probably saw Beth as just another prime target - someone he thought was defenseless that he could try and overpower, like Joan.

They could've made the van fall scene more realistic if they'd stuck a bunch of walker dummies on the back of the van essentially weighing it down, or have them hit the back of the van mid-fall to change it's angle of descent.

Ok first off Daryl mercy killing the walker mom and daughter was kind of him he did it so that Carol wouldn't have to worry about doing it second you honestly couldn't blame Noah for not trusting Carol and Daryl at first because he had no idea who they were he didn't know that they were with Beth

1) And that folks is why you look both ways before crossing the street. It's definitely more of an accident because while they tend to rescue those who appear weak, the officers didn't even know that Daryl was there. 2) Noah was 100% ready to storm Grady Memorial Hospital all by himself. His no. 1 attribute is that he's extremely loyal to those he forges a bond with. 3) It was a nice subtle touch showing Daryl did indeed take the book. Even as a badass adult he never really came to terms with the abuse he suffered as a kid. 4) Hmm...not coming to terms with the past? Seems like a recurring theme this season.
@kingalighost19995 жыл бұрын
Honestly you guys were right Noah should've had a conversation with them but honestly in the Apocalypse if there's one thing you don't do is take any chances especially when someone who you trusted fucks you over and one last thing now we know how Carol ended up at Grady Memorial Hospital she was unintentionally hit by those cops and knocked out unconcious
