Remember back in the Season 2 flashback when Shane and Lori where watching Atlanta get bombed by the military? That's why there are scorch marks and melted walkers in the streets, because of the napalm.
@linaskranauskas5 жыл бұрын
No, Dawn is not 'trying her best to keep this place going'. She's a manipulative, evil lunatic, who has created a nest for rapists who kidnap survivors on the street and hurt them on purpose so that she could 'save' them and they would feel forever in her debt. In my opinion, hospital's arc is totally legit. The writers tried to portray what would go wrong with an isolated system which would be relatively 'safe' (from walkers), but would try to function almost just as before the apocalypse; I think they succeeded to paint the orwelian reality of such system in a couple of episodes.
@itsme60185 жыл бұрын
I really liked this arc mainly for Beth's character development. She shows strength that no one expected of her. And you see a bit of a different side to Daryl, standing up to Rick by siding with Tyreese's plan. He's never really done that before and you have to wonder if his time with Beth changed his outlook ("there's still good people out there...").

I absolutely love the intensity of every single relationship on this show. Every character pairs up with every other character so well even if they hardly ever interact. There isn't a single character in Rick's "Family" that isn't likeable and well developed.

1) While she didn't see it, Rick's plan nicely correlates to Michonne's realization that they've been out there for too long. When living in a constant state of fight and survival, you risk losing your empathy and humanity. 2) A season 2 flashback showed that the military fire bombed the city. That's why there's melted walkers. 3) Dawn genuinely wants to save as many lives as she can. She doesn't necessarily care that a percentage of them are abused cause she justifies things to herself that most of the wards and officers are happy. She's also still holding on to the false belief that things can eventually return to how things use to be so the atrocities are just a temporary evil. 4) Bob was genuine at first but from his perspective Rick and friends are the bad guys. As far as he knows, he can't trust these people. We've been following Rick from the beginning so it's hard for most people to see things from another perspective.

It showed that Rick has flaws; it showed how much more confidence Daryl has, to be willing to contradict Rick's plan; it showed Tyreese's compassion for people he don't even know; it showed Beth's underlying strength coming to the surface; it at least showed that Gabe doesn't have anything under his sleeve but guilt & fear; it showed Maggie & Glenn's leadership qualities; and it showed Rosita being more than just a "hot pants & bootie call." I like this arc. It makes sense to me. I could see people actually acting like the hospital group if the apocolypse were to happen. I don't think Dawn's bad, that's why she helps Beth. But, her people come first and she'd do whatever to keep the hospital going and HER people happy. It's not that confusing to me but Dawn is definitely wishy washy. I do think the hospital group are WAY more believable than cannibals. Just throwing that out there.

Dawn isn't necessarily a bad person, but she's just a bad leader, she can't control her people very well. She's done some bad things but she's only done them in hopes of doing the right thing. This group harms people and then takes them in to work for them towards some greater good. It's like human trafficking in the Zombie Apocalypse. Out of all the villains in the show, they're definitely the most complex since they're not outright evil, since they're doing things for a greater good purpose.
@jmominis4 жыл бұрын
I think the hospital arc would be better as a book. There is too many times that things are very intertwined or convoluted before a payoff. If you blink or sneeze you might miss a detail that is important, remember when they brought the hurt doctor in. There were whispers and hints and behaviours that were so subtle that you almost need to rewind. Like the Clonazepam Clozapine story. Still enjoy though after many viewings bc all these details come clear.

Honestly the storyline isn’t the most exciting through this part of the show. That said it’s just all part of the process. I noticed watching this time around the captured female cop was real quick to see this as her chance to get rid of Dawn but the male cop hasn’t caught onto that strategy yet.
@MacGuffinExMachina5 жыл бұрын
I wasn't a fan of this particular arc, and neither were most fans, but loved the second half of this season. This arc was not in the comics, which is probably partly why it feels out of place. There's one season that's horrible almost all the way through, and it made a lot of people quit watching the show. I hope you don't when you get to it because it gets way better after. Would it be a spoiler to say which season? I kind of want to prepare you for it. Either way, if you get to a terrible season, just know that it's worth getting through to the other side. This arc is more like a hiccup. For me, at this point in the show, the Vatos and CDC arcs, the middle of season 2, minor bits here and there of season 3, and the length of the flu arc in 4 were similar low quality hiccups. I remember you liking some of the bits I didn't care for, so hopefully this unnamed season won't be as much of a pain lol.

I did have some issues with the hospital storyline upon first watch, so I get where Steve is coming from. I totally get your point and agree that to outsiders of "our" group Rick and Co. seem evil at times. However, if I had been with Dawn the entire time I believe ( and hope) that I would definitely not see her as good since she knows her male officers are raping the wards repeatedly and she doesn't stop it ( kills them ) to keep them safe. I know she only has a few male officers there and if they're gone she/they will be more vulnerable to threats from the outside but as long as she is allowing the rapes and abuse to continue she is at risk of threats from the outside AND threats from the inside. 😊
