AWESOME SETUP! Does it insulate enough for an air conditioner, like a mini-split? Southerners need to know haha.

Hey brother I just found your KZbin video and I just subscribed to your channel. And I want to say you give me hope. And you give me a Fighting Chance because I have a wall tent and I've been going crazy because I don't see nobody living in one. And now things to your video I know I could do it.

Can we guess what you are planning? Is it a barn for chickens? Or a bunkie for me to come & visit?

it's not a barn ... yet. and sorry the bunkie will have to wait till spring... lol

Niee! How is it in the heat and humidity? I'm building in Ecuador and it's between 70-80 degrees year round with high humidity. I'm wondering if a tent will be too hot in that type of climate.
@cabinlife6595 Жыл бұрын
It can get pretty warm when the sun is shining.. The wood stove brings down the humidity to around 20 or 25 when it's 95 % outside. The fly helps with the heat a bit ... We are going to try a portable a/c unit this summer. See how that turns out.

How do you avoid getting eaten by bears n stuff when you go live out in tents and stuff in the wilderness? Thank you.
@cabinlife6595 Жыл бұрын
Well our dog Dexter does a great job of making sure we never see any wild life... I know there are bears and coyotes here because I've seen them on other people's properties. But haven't seen any signs of wild life on our property.

Way cool set up. I didn't have the money to build a deck for mine unfortunately. How do you stop getting water inside from the chimney.? My stove is all rusty from the water that comes inside. Also i was wondering if you have any cool ideas on how to make a cheap deck / foundation??
@cabinlife659518 сағат бұрын
Sorry for the late response. We had a rain cap on the chimney. But it still got rusty . The black pipe isn't good for outside use . Especially for a full-time basis.
@cabinlife659518 сағат бұрын
Stainless pipe would be much better ... but much more money. If your ground is level you could use pallets for a tent base.and the put plywood on top. Just a thought

What brand and size is your tent? Where did you yet it from. I am looking yo do something similar. Thank you
@cabinlife6595 Жыл бұрын
It's from Airdre canvas in alberta. It's a 16 x20 with a 5 foot porch... So 16 x 25 total. The walls are 5 ft plus a 12 inch sod cloth but I raised it up and my walls are 6ft 6 inch.

What are you going to do for freeze protection on your water system?
@cabinlife6595 Жыл бұрын
There is a 1000 ltr blader under the bed. So we only use the tote until it ftreezes

What about installing a bit of flashing above your electrical panel as a shield in case of water ingress from above? You know…in case Murphy’s law strikes during a bad wind storm or something.

Nice setup but cats in the woods is not a good decision, they are vulnerable to hawks, racoons, eagles, foxes and just about everything else
@cabinlife659519 сағат бұрын
It is always a concern most of the cats stay close to the house and do a good job of keeping the mice down. The dogs also do a good job of keeping the wild life way.. We don't see much in the way of wild animals. Even the chickens have been safe so far.

You do not have a lithium ion battery. Your battery is lithium iron phosphate or LiFePo4 - a totally different and safer chemistry than lithium ion.
